Non-Scott Frost Coaching Options
PasstheDamnBallGuy replied to Roger Dorn's topic in Husker Football
I've seen people on here wanting Les Miles and Art Briles. Hopefully it was more ignorance than wanting to win that bad -
To add to this their pick play that didn't get called was so much worse than the one we got called on. Ours was pretty common pick and gets called sometimes but often not. I think it was Martin that got called; he closed the gap to his defender and the pick was on the crossing defender who couldn't make the gap in time. Their player ran directly at the crossing defender without even trying to hide it.
-
Yeah I mean I cant argue with any of that. For whatever reason(development, scheme, culture) the team does not seem to be playing to their full potential, and Minnesota as a team seem like they did tonight.
-
I'd say more than Morgan this game was close because Ibrahim playing well and Stroud playing poorly. Also the overturned pick. I honestly have no idea who would have more guys start where and then that could be spun any way you want. If we have more guys that could start there we are wasting talent. If they have more guys that could start here we just haven't developed correctly. @Kayvanyeah it's just weird to come in to compliment Morgan just to talk s#!t on Martinez when no one mentioned him.
-
He has barely done anything and is extremely lucky to not have two picks this game. He also has a super effective running game to help him out. The way people on here f#&%ing tongue bath other players just to put ours down is kinda sad.

Tanner Morgan still sux though

The craziest part is he wasnt just an OL coach, he still is one of the best OL coaches in the NFL and everywhere he goes the oline makes a huge jump. -

In reality this is just random guesses cuz there are too many variables and unknowns, but ill pat myself on the back for being kinda right about half of what I said. -
Yeah it seemed like just flashes before but I think he is locked in now. No matter what else is going on I feel like this dline and defense overall should be fun to watch this year.
-
I haven't seen him getting a lot of love but I remember seeing this play live and being so excited about how far along Tanor has come along. He absolutely destroyed a Sr RT that probably has a good 70 lbs on him.

Too bad, looks like pre-K is still in your future then.

UT really just don't care enough to act like some of our fans do. When they are bad they just give up and stop caring. When the season wasn't going well the stadium was empty and no one cared. I worked on Saturdays and as soon as the game even hinted at being a loss I saw the fans streaming by. A&M is a never ran so the fans are happy with anything. I'm only talking about players when I say this stuff though. I agree they are just as hard on coaches maybe harder than Neb fans, and I don't have a problem with that. Obviously every fan base has some bad it's just who has more of those fans and how quickly they decide a player is garbage and they really need to tell other people.
-
I live in Texas and worked walking distance from UT for 5 years. My wife and her family are UT fans. I've also had family and friends go to A&M. The praise they have heaped on average to bad QBs here for the past decade is a lot. Most other fan bases are s#!tty to the other teams players and super homers to their own. Nebraska fans are pretty kind to other teams players and coaches, and instantly critical of anyone here with any expectations of being good. Hell I remember thinking how crazy it was that LSU fans were so excited about Burrow the year before their championship when he looked pretty average at best.
-
Yeah honestly this has been a fear in the back of my mind the whole time with Frost. He wants this team to succeed too much and seemed to feel the pressure right away. The offense looked like the defense under Bo.
-
I don't think it's the main issue or the start of the issue but it def adds to the toxic air the way some people act. Obviously the players should be able to put that out but that doesn't mean it wouldn't help to not have it. Anyone feeling defensive about this should probably just think about why that may be. Nebraska fans are not the heros they think they are.
-
I really think fans need to bear some of the responsibility for this. Some people are way too quick to put down some kids that are just not as good at football as they would like them to be.
-
He's the HC for ULL that beat down everyone's golden boy in Ames last year.
-
I really think it has to be something like this. How else do we have things that persist this much from coach to coach. I feel like a similar thing is going on at UT and probably other schools. From his history Trev can make the tough decisions so maybe cutting off some boosters is something he has the balls to do.
-
I had some stuff distracting me during the review so I didn't get a good look but I swear that 30 yard pass that set them up at the one looked like his only foot landed on the line also. Also what do you think about Napier? His offense is comparable to Gus' right?
-
He's about 3200 yds from top spot in passing yards(that would put him at least 2nd for passing yards in a season). Probably takes 2nd if healthy this year. Definitely possible to hit 1st this year but would have to have the offense really rolling.

Nebraska & Coach Frost under NCAA investigation
PasstheDamnBallGuy replied to suh_fan93's topic in Husker Football
Yeah and Saban just happens to run into recruits during the dead period while walking through the hallways of their school for unrelated reasons. We need to just find a way to be sneakier about this in the future like any good program is. -
I can't remember which of these threads it was in but someone on Twitter looked at the actual numbers and adding OU and Texas barely puts the SEC over the B1G in tv revenue. I think people are overestimating the SEC or underestimating the B1G. It would not take too much of a revenue bump from a merger to put us back at #1. UT got a network deal because ESPN f#&%ed up plain and simple. They are hemorrhaging money on that deal big time. There is a reason they are trying everything they can to dump it.
