  1. If you don't like to stand up, be loud, or do anything besides take up space...give your ticket to someone else and stay home. Beat Colorado, hope A&M wins a three way tiebreaker in the south, take the trophy, and get the heck out of the Big 12.
  2. Still in negotiations for the last non-conference game. There will be 12.
  3. It's a football game. People are going to stand and cheer. If you don't want to/can't do the same, you can't expect everyone else to sit down for you. If you want to sit the entire game, watch on TV. Otherwise, be willing to deal with people around you standing and yelling from time to time.
  4. Good portion of Memorial Stadium crowd = blue hairs and social event attendees.

A majority of the teams in the Big Ten use some version of the spread offense. It's not just a 3 yards and a cloud of dust league anymore.
  6. I would disagree completely. There hasn't been a team that has looked absolutely dominant this year. Oregon has looked mediocre on defense. TCU has looked very good, but doesn't have to prove it week by week...they only have to get up for about 2 big games. Same with Boise. Auburn has had some squeakers to middle of the pack teams. I think NU hangs with any of these teams.
  7. I don't agree or disagree but I'm curious to hear why. Explain. Yes, explain. I don't see how we were much helped today ... Alabama is out of the picture. LSU still has to play Arkansas and won't make the SEC championship game unless Auburn loses two. Utah is out of the picture. Boise is going to have a hard time not getting jumped by a one loss BCS team. Oregon still has Arizona, Oregon State, and Cal. Auburn has to play Alabama and the SEC game. Still a lot of football left to be played. There is no margin of victory factored into the BCS, so a close win over Iowa State isn't going to hurt NU unless the human pollsters vote them lower because of it.
  8. ESPN's college football page should have a gamecast that shows the play by play
  9. Strength of schedule helped them...not a strong argument for NU this year.
  10. Would need the help of the almighty upset to see NU crack the top 5 again this year.
  11. No way they would ever operate with less than a full staff of assistants.
  12. A LOT of things would have to go right. Schedule is too weak to have much of a chance unless a lot of other teams fall. The rest of the schedule is very winnable. The team needs to focus on the task of winning the Big 12 and let the rest of the chips fall where they may.
  13. A wr coach being held responsible because his wrs drop balls all over the place? Nah.....just blame the players. It worked for Coz, Callahan, Bohl, etc... Alright...your receiver just dropped a pass that hit him squarely in the hands and there was no one within 10 yards of him. Go coach him up. What would you do? The receivers were in the right place constantly throughout the game. The routes were run pretty well. Blocking from them has been pretty good. The receiver has to catch the ball...that's on him. There's only so much a coach can do in that situation. I'd agree, it's on the coaches if the receivers are out there every week dropping numerous balls, but that's really not happening.
  14. Was Gilmore out there dropping passes? Hmm...must have missed that...
  15. Even the high rows in the end zones aren't terrible. You just don't want to get stuck under the overhang/behind a pole on either side of the field.
  16. South Dakota State is the only game so far that NU hasn't won the toss. The official stats from each game list the coin toss.
  17. Putting one second back on the clock was the correct call. Say an extra second ticks off the clock when a timeout is called midway through the second quarter of a game. It's not treated the same way because the game doesn't end in that situation. You can consider that one second expiring at the end of a game an 'egregious error' because that error caused the game to end. It sucks, but that's the way it goes.
  18. I believe Kansas has the same thing on their field
  19. A majority of the teams in the Big Ten run some version of a spread offense. It's not exactly the 3 yards and a cloud of dust league that it used to be.

  21. That is exactly my point. I don't get the need to trash our guy in favor of more of our guys who we know next to nothing about. What do we know about Cody Green? He can beat Baylor and he looked way over his head against Oklahoma, and he was fine in mop-up duty against the rest. He was a true Freshman and shouldn't be expected to be anything other than that - but nothing we saw last year makes him any better than Lee, and likely he would be a step down. We know absolutely nothing about Taylor Martinez except that he was impressive in a game-like scrimmage. We know a little bit more about LaTravis Washington, but less than we know about Green. Denouncing Lee in favor our troop of unknowns doesn't make sense in the least. Denouncing Lee because he's not Dave Humm makes no sense whatsoever. It also makes no sense to anoint Lee the starter. By all accounts, Lee hasn't done anything up to this point to separate himself from Green and Martinez. If the injury was really holding him back that much, and the coaching staff is looking for a "game manager," he should theoretically be in the lead right now, considering his experience and time in the system. We don't know what a healthy Zac Lee is. It could quite possibly be pretty similar to the "injured" Zac Lee of last year. I think that's missing his point though. Knapplc isn't annointing anyone. In my eyes, Lee is in fact separated from Martinez and Green because of the experience he has. Besides, Lee is without a doubt our most talented and mechanically sound passer we've seen so far. We saw what happened last year when we didn't have someone who could make plays with their arm, and I don't think the coaches want to go a direction with a guy that isn't going to do well in the passing game. Also, I get the honest impression the coaches aren't looking for that "game manager" right now. They're looking for a guy that won't turn the ball over and can make plays, and big plays when he has to. All in all we cannot completely cross out any name at this point. That said, Lee being our most experienced makes me believe he'll be our guy. Expect to see Martinez and Green get snaps, but I just don't see Lee losing the job to a either Green or Martinez yet. Maybe when the season rolls around we'll see who is the better in game quarterback. But right now, Lee is the choice I believe the coaches will make. I would agree that at this point, because of his experience alone, Lee likely has the upper hand. Bottom line is, no one knows how injured Lee was last year and how much it affected his game. I tend to think that Martinez has too much upside to keep him behind Lee if they can get a solid grasp on controlling the offense. I will gladly eat my words if Lee comes out and lights the world on fire, but I'm putting the chips on Martinez eventually taking the job this year.
