  1. We also need to see where health insurance premiums end up two years from now. It's going to be hard to blame Obamacare when Trump was declaring it dead a couple months ago. Canada will probably make the same targeted tariffs. Another big influence is what happens to congress in 2018. People like the balance where one party doesn't control both congress and the Presidency.
  2. I'm really curious how many people across the nation feel this way. There just aren't that many states where a single voter can feel like they've really made a legitimate difference in how things turn out, for both the winners and the losers. Locally it feels like my vote matters but at the state and national level, not so much.
  3. He almost has to be giving them something. What other reason is there for massive price decreases? I can't imagine shareholders will be too excited about voluntarily slashing profits.
  4. Wisconsin didn't even have their starting QB (Stave) for this game. Any decent gameplan would have revolved around stopping the run and making the backup QB try to win the game in the air.
  5. I see comments similar to this on twitter and I dismiss them as trolls and bots. Then later in the day on a talk radio show I hear how the conservative host is very upset because a bunch of people are texting in these same kinds of comments. What a bunch of s#!tty people.
  6. Use the census every ten years to re proportion the electoral college votes and call it a day.
  7. I think you're right about all of this. I've always believed that Comey didn't reveal the Manafort/Papadapolous/Russia questions surrounding the 2016 election because they thought Trump would lose and they didn't want to burn an ongoing investigation. The voters deserved to know that members of his campaign were under surveillance just as much as we deserved to know about Hillary being investigated.
  8. Between this revelation from Tom Price and yesterday Marco Rubio realizing that the tax breaks aren't trickling down I think I see the re-election plan shaping up. Feigned ignorance. I mean, who could have predicted that these things were going to happen?
  9. This AP article isn't playing up the racism angle like a lot of other sources are. The story I read earlier this morning about this same incident was trying really hard to make it look like the police were called because the golfers are black women. I can't believe the police actually showed up for this. I guess the dispatcher was told it was a dispute? I'd love to hear a recording of the call.
  10. and they'll get to run against the Dems raising taxes.
  11. The next time someone says they don't understand what 'white privileged' is, show them this story.
  12. This person gets paid for his political opinions.
  13. It also means that it's almost certainly not Stormy Daniels related which I believe is still a civil matter. It would have to be a significant criminal matter for a federal judge to sign off on it. A crime is a crime but no federal judge is going to authorize a raid like this over something trivial considering the target(s). They're seizing documents protected by attorney-client privilege.
  14. It's hard to overstate what a big deal this is. The lawyer of the POTUS was raided by the FBI. Holy crap.
  15. If the item you purchase from Amazon is fulfilled by Amazon they will collect tax. If the item you purchase through Amazon gets fulfilled by one of the thousands of online resellers that use Amazon as their storefront, you probably aren't paying taxes at the time of purchase. I'm not clear why there is a difference in the way it's handled but I'm guessing fairly complicated. We the consumers are supposed to report the non-taxed sales at the end of the year but nobody does it. It's not like this is an Amazon problem either. You don't pay sales tax at the time of purchase if you buy through Ebay. Right now most of the best electronics deals available are done through Ebay because you don't have to pay tax on your $2000 OLED tv. Anyone can do it too as long as the sale is made across state lines though we're supposed to be reporting these annually. It's not just Bezos that should be upset about this. Shareholders should also be livid about what is going on with the Trump/Amazon feud. He's destroying value in that company when their share prices go down because of his tweets. It's lunacy to watch the President attack a private business.
  16. Keep those thoughts and prayers on deck.
  17. It's official. She lasted 197 days.
  18. WTF is going on? This isn't some jackhole in the youtube comments section. This is an actual elected congressman.
  19. The problem with a limit of 10 weeks is that testing for things like downs syndrome and spina bifida occur around weeks 16-18 if I'm remembering correctly.
  20. The President has to grant the authority for the NSA to do that kind of work? It seems like ensuring our elections are free from outside meddling would be standard NSA business.
  21. I had the same thoughts in regard to both high capacity magazines as well as semi automatic. What possible need is there for either thing beyond the obvious that the bad guys have it and so should the good guys? Then I saw an article about someone in one of the more southern states that uses his AR to hunt feral hogs on his property. Makes total sense and its something I would have never thought of. There are reasons out there.
  22. There's an approximately zero percent chance that McConnell and/or Ryan ever allow a gun control bill to make it to the floor of congress to even be voted upon. The only way anything happens is if a veto-proof Democrat majority is voted in later this year and I'm not even sure that's possible. Trump will never sign a gun control bill which means the earliest anything possibly changes at a federal level is 2021. They couldn't even get legislature done on bump stocks after Las Vegas when almost everyone hates the things and don't use them. I applaud those high school kids in Florida for doing what they are doing but at the end of day I don't think it's going to make a damn bit of difference. Sad.
  23. I think the number of people who would ban all guns is higher than you think. I own a couple and I'd happily give them up if everyone else did it as well, but I think we all know that simply isn't realistic.
