  1. Are the officials multiplying like amoebas or are imposters infiltrating them? There's like 12 of them out there?!?!?
  2. Observations so far: Weber is all over the field today. We sure get a lot of good mileage out of those Elkhorn walk-ons. Gangwish has laid some vicious shots on Lunt so far. Good to see him back. B1G officials either do not understand or do not care about pass interference calls. Oh, and WTH happened with the punt return that was blown dead on a hands to the face call? You guys jinxed Westerstache with the "Return to the site of his HS glory" talk. Shame on you, you know who you are...
  3. Riley said he was shocked when he looked at the depth chart the day after he was hired.Link? If I had the ability to do a nexus search for all the articles quoting Riley over the last 13 months, I would. Or I could do like Saunders does and just say, I heard it from somebody.... Find it hard to believe you don't have every word MR has ever said carved into your skin or at least written down somewhere....
  4. Funny how fans are supposed to show up and wear red, but the team shows up...in all white.

Vegas found out we're wearing all whites...

That's a LOT of $$$ getting dumped on Illinois then...
  7. Speaking of respectful hate, who's your top 5 "Love to Hate" players? I got 1) Claude Lemieux - NJ/COL 2)Scott Stevens- NJ 3)Ty Domi - TOR 4)Chris Pronger - St.Louis 5)Bryan Bickell - CHI (or) Milan Lucic- BOS/LA
  8. Always hard to see the tough guys begin to break down, but I hate him. Bickell could always put just enough in the net to keep him over the line from being a pure goon, but.. I hate him. I know it seems like a purely emotional reaction due to past bad experiences against my Wings, and that's probably true but I still hate him. I sometimes wonder if the woman in Buffalo dropped her case due to fears that at any moment Bickell would come flying in out of nowhere and kick the crap outta her, just like he did to anyone who messed with Kane on the ice. That might not be a bad thing, but I'm gonna stick with the feeling that I hate him. Hope he can overcome all his challenges, like my respectful hate for him, and find further success.
  9. Over... for the same reason JJ used. It'd be nice to be wrong. O/U 3 sacks... Illini QB is reportedly a pocket sitter.
  10. Just curious. Who do you purpose, realistically, should be the coach right now for Nebraska that would have had more immediate success with the players that are on the team? Mora or Kill. Or Patterson, but he would probably laugh at an offer from us.None of those 3 were realisticIf our realistic candidates were Bielema and Riley......... And yes, two of the three were realistic.....though you are free to have your own definition of realistic. Mora is not realistic. You don't have to be in the know to know that. I wouldn't have really wanted him anyway. Kill is good, but the shelf life of the hire isn't any better than Riley. Plus he is happy at Minnesota. Patterson shouldn't even be mentioned in a discussion about Nebraska. Never gonna happen. Kyle Whittingham would be my choice. Probably could have got him if we had tried or if he had the same agent as Eichorst like MR does...
  11. Under, can't see Langs featuring the FB yet. O/U Illinois plays of 20 yrds or more at 4

    Freedom!

Nice, just think of his potential with more experience in a couple of years. He could be a game changer. As long as Banker doesn't put him on the McMullen diet plan. Valentino's! Proudly serving all the Huskers excessive weight gain needs! - Mark Banker, official spokesman
  13. ... I'd say throw it open and take bids and designs from whoever.
  14. Kind of similar to our practice jerseys over the last several years. That would be a nice look on game day. Actually, in this case I'd eliminate the stripes..... then we've have a perfect modern facsimile of our early 80s uniforms, which were perhaps my favorite set, although that might have more to do with the players who were in them. What really caught my eye was the old style turf shoes. There's a blast from the past.
  15. Hey, a former Husker being convicted for a White-collar crime? I'd call that progress!
  16. What was Cincy using last night? The looked pretty comfortable dealing with Miami. I agree with Saunders' point about expecting the new staff to make adjustments in their scheme to take advantage of the players strengths. Whatever we're doing now has all but made Gerry disappear. As good as TO was, he was always willing to make changes to the offense or defense to get the most out of what he had. Maybe that was why he was so good. Why do we keep bringing in coaches who can only do things one way, the way they always have done before. Why not take the opportunity to broaden your coaching expertise and work in some new ideas? Or is it only the players that must make changes?
  17. K Williams is hurt again? I was just getting used to the idea of him NOT being hurt. On a note about MR consulting w/ Str&Con coaches, didn't we have an issue back around 2000 with improper or excessive squats causing a lot of groin pulls on the team? Is it possible they overdid it in the weight room?
  18. Yeah, none of those coaches will watch game tape from our first four games... We're golden.
  19. The Rangers are put together solid. I'd say the east is definitely the stronger of the 2 conferences. They just seem to beat hell out of each other getting to the finals. I just want to see the RW get away from the Babcock mentality and put some youth and energy back on the ice. Hate seeing the great ones get old and start fading, trying to get one more season in.
  20. He added about 30 lbs. He was never great, but he's gotten worse. I never understood why they did that. He looks more DT than DE now. Hope they don't do the same with other guys....or have they already done so? Natter, King , Keels, Stoltenberg, anyone watching the weight totals for them?
  21. You coach what you've got. If McMullen is too slow for DE, move him. You're the DC, you have that option, right? Obviously Banker sees no problems there. That's a coaching problem. Your Bo hatred has reached obsessive levels and counseling seems needed. I'm still not sure where all the worship for MSU's defense comes from, Beck's offense made it look pretty porous when we didn't kill ourselves with penalties and stupid turnovers. If we start leaking out lots of run yardage in conference play I'm not sure patience will be enough. I have no obsession, just pointing out why we are in the situation that he left us in. They are his players, Banker is trying to make the most of it. If you move him, who is the replacement, your suggestions please. Bo's players are in Youngstown. These are now Bankers players if he is the coach. The blanket excuse of "no talent" is weak. Experienced coaches should be able to compensate for the troubles we are having. Wasn't that the knock on Bo? Inability to adjust the defense to the run? If over 1500yds passing in 4 games is "the most of it" we'll probably be helping the rest of the B1G pad their passing stats. As a former player tweeted, "you can't judge Riley's meal made with 408's grocery's. As much as many of you bolievers want to bash the current staff, They have to try to put a competitive team on the field with what they got until they can recruit better talent. I will answer the question I posed to Rex, there is nobody else because in the last 4 years, 408 was lazy and didn't bring in anybody better. We play with what we got. Oh crap... what does one do when confronted with the infinite collection of wisdom known as Twitter? And yeah, you did spell groceries wrong. Might get back with Shanle and see which one of you pooched that one. Recruiting was hardly lazy. That's just ...your angst bubbling over. Why would MR go to such lengths to save garbage recruits that won't fit the system? Doesn't seem like something a smart coach would do. Maybe you should tweet MR and clue him in. Better yet tweet the whole Def. Line and let them know that you and Shanle have determined that they lack any talent and might just be better off moving on down the road so the genius of Banker can shine through? Nice that you use twitter as a straw man to get away from the subject. Never said all of his recruits were bad, but Riley and Langsdorf did do one smart thing a toss the qb from Texas that was playing JV ball. Looks like the qb they have recruited this year is a stud. But back to some substance. You are right that Riley busted his ass to save the class with what little time he had to do it. If you remember, 408 lost most of the top 10 class that Callahan had put together before he was fired, a little effort from him and he would have at least had one more year of Callahan recruits to lean on. Keep it coming, I got all night! You introduced Twitter. I dismissed it. The only real straw man is your repeated Bo references. It's in every thread and response you make. A straw man is something you make up as an incredible foe so that you can beat it down yourself in order to present yourself as the slayer of great evil. Face it man, you hoist it in every thread, in every post. For all your hatred of the man, he is far up in your head he OWNS you. The defense of MR just seems like a means to an end. That end being justifying your hate for a guy who is hundreds of miles away now. Try this little test. Pretend for a moment Pelini is still the coach. It probably makes you a bit queasy, but choke it down or get a bucket for a few moments while we try this out. Looking at the play and results of the last four games, would you have a problem with the defensive scheme? That is the issue people are kvetching about not scratching at their Pelini scars. So let the Boliever-lover crap go, it's stale and serves nothing.

  24. Yeah, if the defender had been a inch taller the shattered pieces of TA's cup would've been sprayed into the third row of the stands.
