  1. If we were to fire Watson I think we might want to try going to the option. Navy and Georgia Tech have shown it still works and we have the QB's for it.
  2. Yeah we would have done better but with our 08 offense I think we would have won the National Championship.
  3. Just when we thought we were going to have a healthy line...
  4. Aren't the rankings supposed to be on how good the team is and not how easy their schedule is? Otherwise I think we'd be ranked higher due to our favorable schedule.
  5. The only way I'd like a 2 QB system is if we have a starter and use Martinez's running ability some but a two QB system of Green and Lee would only make us worse.
  6. I think 11-1 with a loss to A&M is a pretty good guess.
  7. The only thing I've heard is that you have to have 12 teams to have a CCG but I never heard that if you have 12 teams you must split into divisions and have a CCG.
  8. My main goal is to win the Big 12. If we do that I'm satisfied with our season if we don't I may still be happy with our season depending on how we do but I'll still be a little disappointed.
  9. Offense: Joe Ganz if we keep our same offense or Frazier if we change it. Defense: Suh
  10. It will be interesting to see what happens at the safety position but I'm not really concerned about it and am more concerned about LB.
  11. I think Lee will be the starter and that we will do fine with him. He should be better now that he's healthy and has a season under his belt but even the way he played last year we were still able to win 10 games and could have easily won more. I'm not real high on Lee but from what I've seen he's our best option.
  12. 6 is a little higher than I would have ranked us but I don't have a problem with it. People should be optimistic when we are returning a defense that should be at least close to what it was last year and our returning an offense that should be improved. We managed to finish 14th last year with three close losses so 6 isn't really a stretch.
  13. I hope we are the turtle next season and not the fish.
  14. It could have been more and it could have been less. I'd liked to have won more but I'm more than satisfied with 5.
  15. Not really surprising but another nice award for Suh. Link
  16. I'm guessing that's exactly what they wanted. It doesn't seem like they were trying to keep the Big 12 together then.
  17. What I don't get is how would leaking that expansion plan make Nebraska want to stay even more? Wouldn't it just make the conference seem more unstable?
  18. Now you are just twisting in the wind trying to make a point. Lucky was a focal point in our passing game simply because he was a great receiver. He was great at setting up screens, a great route runner, and had great hands. If Lucky had any hint of speed or quickness, he would at least be a VERY good 3rd down RB in the NFL. In all honesty, he should almost be converted to WR where his limited speed/quickness wouldn't be as glaring due to his route running ability. Ganz was more a vertical threat than Keller? Ganz had a noodle for an arm, which is the exactly reason he had no NFL future. Ganz was able to be a very good college QB due to his ability to read a defense, and all around smarts on the field. In all reality, if Ganz had real arm strength, our offense would have had another real option to spread defenses. Mo didn't bring a vertical threat to this offense either. Mo was just a good route runner with a big body who was able to out-muscle college CBs. Also cannot forget his ability to take a short catch, break a tackle, and turn it into a good gain constantly. Our offense in the last 3 games of that '07 season was a complete overhaul a well. We may as well have been Texas Tech in those last games. 50, 48, 58. I mean, Ganz threw the ball on average 49 times in each of those last 3 games. Not only that, but we went predominantly out of the shotgun, and almost forgot our WCO philosophy. Heck, Keller threw the ball 325 times in 9 starts. Ganz threw the ball 148 times in only 3 starts. Put that over a 9 game stretch and Ganz would have thrown the ball 444 times. Lucky was hurt nearly his entire senior season, and had to share the workload as a result. His junior season he was able to rack up 200+ carries, while no one else got more than 80 carries. In his senior season, we had 3 RBs with 100+ carries, and no one had more than 130 carries. Even Ganz nearly had 100 carries. Again, you can think there was some sort of conspiracy if you want. However, people that know more than I have said for years that Callahan promised Keller nothing. And after all that has transpired with both of those guys, I doubt they would stick to that story, unless it was true. You're probably right but I just would have thought that they would have noticed that Ganz was the better QB. I agree Keller had the stronger arm but during the games he really didn't use that arm strength to his advantage and that's why he averaged less yards per attempt than Ganz. Ganz also had a big advantage with his mobility which allowed him to make plays outside the pocket or tuck it in run if nothing was there. Callahan probably goofed on Ganz but the under the table deal thing sounds very believable especially with a guy like Keller who sues video games for putting his name in it
  19. You know if you wanted to you could vote for Suh a million times by exiting out of the site and clicking on the link again.
  20. I follow the basketball team some and have gone to games before but they are pretty bad. I think if we got good they would get a large following like the women's team did last year.
  21. Keller completed 63% of his passes, and was more known for his ability to push the ball down the field than anything else. Keller gave us more of a vertical threat in the passing game than we have ever had. Even more - Ganz on average passed more to Lucky than Keller did as well. Lucky caught 20 passes in the last 3 games, while he caught 55 in the first 9 games. So to say Keller was simply checking down is not true. It's simply that Lucky was that good of a receiver and was used quite often in our offense that year. Really should have been used more out wide in his career, because he was one of our better pass catchers. Again, Ganz was a poor practice player, even against our defense. I know it's easy to say it was a conspiracy. But if it were, I would be the first to stand up and say it. I don't really hold back in my criticisms, if you haven't noticed. Keller really was checking it down most of the time though. I think Lucky's increased numbers with Ganz in those 3 games were due to him becoming a focal point of our offense that season due to Keller. He only had 26 catches with Ganz the entire next season. Also Ganz was a much more vertical threat then Keller and that's why Purify got half of his yards and 2/3 of his touchdowns in the three games Ganz started. Even if Ganz was somewhat of a poor practice player either Callahan majorly messed up or there was a back room deal. I guess we can at least thank Keller for giving us Bo Pelini because had Ganz started all year Callahan would have gotten at least one more year.
  22. The Big 12 may fall apart sooner then we even expected. It's only a matter of time before these disputes result in someone leaving the conference or the Big 12 fails to hold true on it's commitments.
  23. Just to point this out again - as much as I truly despise Keller, he won the job legitimately. Nothing was promised to him. Ganz was the definition of a 'gamer'. Ganz was not a good practice player at all, but you put him on the field in a game and the kid was great. Keller, OTOH, was as good in practice as he was in a game. Unfortunately for Callahan, regardless of what happened on the practice field, he did not measure how much the locker room was clearly behind Ganz and wanted him to be the starter. In the end, that alone may have cost him his job. That and his blind following of that Cosgrove fellar. I kind of believe the back room deal because I don't think Callahan was that stupid not to recognize that Ganz could be a better player. Keller couldn't accurately throw the ball more than 10 yards down the field and had no mobility at all and that had to show up some even in practice. Who knows how bad Keller would have done had it not been for Lucky.
  24. So what, Hitler had some great things to say about the U.S. before 1941. Talk is cheap and I prefer to judge a man by his actions. So far I'm not real impressed with Texas or Mac Brown's. WOW!!! Did someone just make a comparison between Hitler and the Nazi Regime to Mack Brown and the Longhorns?! just....WOW!!!! edit: Mods, If I get banned for personal attacks, am I still allowed to browse but not contribute? He wasn't comparing Mack Brown to Hitler he was just using Hitler as an example of how talk is cheap.
  25. I remember that game. It was so bad everyone let go of their balloons after we got our first first down
