  3. Anyone seen or heard an update on Stroh? Edit: Nevermind, found an answer to my own question. Friday’s game is set for a 1:35 p.m. start, with sophomore left-hander Kyle Perry pitching for Nebraska. Gareth Stroh, the Huskers’ Friday-night starter the first two weekends, is still sidelined with an arm problem that kept him in Lincoln last weekend. “Gareth’s getting better,” said Bolt. “He’s feeling a little bit better. I don’t have any kind of definitive answer as to when he’ll be back, but I know he’s chomping at the bit to get back. We just have to be sure he’s feeling pretty close to 100% before we get him out there.” https://hailvarsity.com/s/9091/huskers-hoping-for-a-lions-share-from-columbia-this-weekend
  4. It would be tough to lose Kaden Johnson, Maliek Reed (a bit underrated but seemed like Frost and Chin really wanted him), and TJ Bollers to Wisc at OLB in back-to-back classes.
  5. Stewart Mandel's list: https://theathletic.com/1654673/2020/03/05/stewart-mandel-ranking-the-top-25-coaches-in-college-football/?source=dailyemail Bruce Feldman's list: https://theathletic.com/1654112/2020/03/05/bruce-feldman-ranking-the-25-best-coaches-in-college-football/ First, a little bit shocked to not see Frost on either list or on the 'just missed the cut'. I guess it shows how far his stock has fallen since coming to DONU. Second, I tend to agree with Mandel's list more, except he has Bill Clark of UAB at No. 10.
  6. I think Frost will have a couple packages with McCaffrey in at QB and also a couple with Martinez and McCaffrey on the field at the same time. McCaffrey won't move to WR but will be QB3 and bidding time to duke it out with Smothers in 2022.
  7. Will add to the competition for minutes at the G and G/f positions between Mack, Banton, Allen, Stevenson, Green, and Burke next year.
  8. It was by mere coincidence that the Big Ten has gotten better since Nebraska joined. Nebraska has done nothing to contribute to the rise of the Big Ten... unless you count programs like Purdue and Indiana being able to claim they've beaten a blue blood program.
  9. Exactly, and for example Martinez's TD to Spielman in the Maryland game was almost picked by two players before falling into Spielman's arms. The 'what if' game would result in a 9 TD to 10 INT ratio.
  10. A bit odd that he was California dreaming with no California schools in his top 10. Either way would like to see him end up N.
  11. The D line is the biggest question mark for me. We have some talent coming in but not much experience outside of Stille. If the D line gets pushed around come Big 10 play it could make for a long season on the defensive side.
  12. That's a fair point but often if its a called give there won't be a read/unblocked defender. If there is an unblocked defender at the LOS its an indication of a read type play.
  13. Surprised to see Marquis Black on this list over Nash - I do think Black has the chance to be a surprise/steal of this class down the road who is a bit underrated. Surprised to not see Keyshawn Greene on the list at LB.
  14. Agree that he will be the starter but he was horrible with his in game decisions. Any casual fan could tell something was off with him throwing the football, but my big criticism of 2am were his reads in both the passing game and running game. Some of his reads in the run game, on whether to give or take, exemplified the game was coming at him too fast last year as his struggles continued to snowball.
  15. I was wondering why we didn't see Hallmark in games 2 and 3 at Baylor. I'm guessing nothing too serious and only a sprain if he is day to day.
  16. Disappointing end to a very promising start of the series.
  17. Most likely he will coordinate through grad assistants having the direct communication with players.
  18. Preseason Honors and Big Ten Coaches' Poll Aaron Palensky, Spencer Schwellenbach and Gareth Stroh each claimed spots on the Big Ten Preseason Honors List, announced by the conference on Wednesday. https://huskers.com/news/2020/2/12/baseball-huskers-open-bolt-era-at-baylor.aspx
  19. Friday's season opener is set for 6:35 p.m. (CT) at Baylor Ballpark. Saturday's game is scheduled for 2:05 p.m., one hour earlier than the originally scheduled time due to Baylor's men's basketball team hosting a game at 3 p.m. Sunday's series finale will begin at 1:05 p.m. https://huskers.com/news/2020/2/12/baseball-huskers-open-bolt-era-at-baylor.aspx
  20. Anyone who is scared about this kid running between the tackles hasn’t watched his film or seen a pic of him without his shirt on.
  21. Wait... is this true?? Or were you being facetious?
  22. With the new season right around the corner, what do you got for lineup projections? Here's where I see it: 1 - Hagge - LF 2 - Chick - 3B 3 - Acker - CF 4 - Palensky - RF 5 - Schwelly - SS 6 - Roseberry - 1B (could see platoon w/ Roskam and others) 7 - Hallmark - 2B 8 - Roskam - DH (perhaps some Shanaman and others) 9 - Hellstrom - C Predicting SP also looks to be a toss-up but heres were I project: Friday - Gomes Sat - Max Schreiber Sunday - ????
  23. I like it! More national exposure by playing on a Thursday before the rest of the opening week games. Also, more practice/film time between week 1 and 2. Also, should allow us to open up camp earlier as well.
