  1. Obviously not getting Lindsey is a major disappointment. However, I think we have a similar type slot receiver in Spielman who I think is going to be a very very good player. Although we should be disappointed and hopefully he reconsiders down the road - I find some comfort in knowing that Spielman can fulfill the role Riley saw for Lindsey in our offense.
  2. Has Utter been taking any reps at LG? Decker looked pretty good in the spring game and ready to step up at C if Wilson doesn't look ready at LG- IMO.
  3. Perhaps Raridon gets a more serious look at burning a RS now?
  4. No one is defending Williams. There hasn't been one post that i have read that says this was no big deal, or that it should be business as usual. I haven't read a single post condoning his behavior either. Instead, people are discussing their thoughts on the definition of alcoholic and whether Williams is an alcoholic or if has made poor life choices which have led to multiple duis. Nothing in that discussion is condoning or making excuses for Williams.
  5. You think he's only driven drunk once since the last DUI? I think what he was trying to say (or atleast what I will say) is that not everyone who gets a dui or multiple duis is an alcoholic. Rather, it comes down to making poor decisions on whether to get behind the wheel or take a taxi. Just because someone makes repeated bad decisions on driving after drinking does NOT make them an alcoholic.
  6. Nothing new that hasn't already been written and offers no insight or analysis into the 2016 season...
  7. All Williams issues aside - has anyone heard or read articles about his reaction to his trip?
  8. This is the main sticking point for me as well. From a legal side, if his punishments make it to where he can't do his job, then he no longer has value as a coach. He can't coach and recruit from jail. It's next to impossible to get interlocks installed on rental cars And the university should definitely not be on the hook to pay for a driver for him. Also have to think about the terms of his probation. Some can't leave the state except for emergency - while others have to check-in and coordinate all out of state trips with probation officer.
  9. Showing off the academic support staff/services to the parents and involving coaches and getting them to buy into the S&C, facilities and feeling connection to the program will be key on this visit. But I agree with CMT - getting him to pay his own dime 3 weeks before his OV is telling. If Williams reels this guy in he should get a pay raise on the spot.
  10. My feelings as well. Bush is one of the better athletes on the team. Size, speed, etc. He should be playing. Let him return kick offs and or punts. We have desperate need of someone who can do that. Maybe DPE is back? If Bush is third or arguably be 4th string if POB was worth his scholarship, he should be playing in the mean time. Now, if we lose Tommy or Fyfe, then he returns, maybe. This is why we make a deliberate effort to have no less than 2 QBs ready to go with some game snaps under their belts. We are one injury away from a disaster if Tommy goes down. I see you guys are still two pees In a pod. No, Bush isn't a Rush End. No, Bush isn't more athletic and a better return man than DPE. No, Bush isn't a better WR option than the 8 guys in front of him. No, Bush isn't even our 3rd best QB. Agree with Matty and I would add that he is currently sitting 3rd on the depth chart with 1 and 2 being Seniors. He also has the mentality that he will be the man next year - if he doesn't have that mentality then he isn't a D1 QB. If he gets beat out next year by Lee or POB then I think would consider a position change. However, until that happens his mindset is taking the rains in '17. (I'm not saying he will - just what his mindset has to be).
  11. Great pick-up. Hopefully we can hang on to him - I think he is going to have a monster year and will get the attention of some major players. In fact, he already has but seems to be a plan B for some of the offers he has - ie Alabama, FSU and Georgia. This one could be interesting down the stretch. Kid will be a stud. Glad to have him N.
  12. 10-2 I think we come out of the gate firing and end on a somewhat disappointing note with losses to OSU and Iowa. Fresno - W Wyoming - W Oregon - W @ NW - W Illinois - W @ Indiana - W Purdue - W @Wisconsin - W @ OSU - L Minnesota - W Maryland - W @ Iowa - L
  13. I think people are reading way too much into body language. Lindsey's relationship with Williams cannot be stressed enough. I'm sure OSU gained ground/momentum after the visit but I think we are still are one of his leaders at this point. I haven't read about any changes to his commitment date - is it still set for August 22nd?
  14. I wasn't worried until the AD felt the need to tweet about it. I trust him about as far as I can throw him. Now we'll all get an email while we're away on Thanksgiving break explaining why we're going back to the Big 12. I read an article yesterday that quoted Bill as saying that there are two teams that he "knows of" that want to come back to the Big 12. Maybe not the exact quote but he made it clear what he meant. I have no idea what will happen... we'll just have to wait and see. We got stuck in this division (west) by the B1G that is far removed from the recruiting center of the conference and that has most of the bottom dwellers in the conference. They did us no favors by doing that. Where would you have had them put us... in the east as the furthermost west team? They tried breaking up the divisions differently and we saw how that worked. If we were in the east I'm sure there would be those conspiracy theorists that would claim we were put there to show us how tough the big ten is and that the big ten was out to get us/keep us down.
  15. Take out the 4 star recruits for Bo that never made it to campus and that will effect this table (Dixon, Starling and Harrison just to name a few). As of now, all 5 of Riley's 4 stars will be on campus this fall. I think that is a very important factor in evaluating and comparing the recruiters from the last two staffs. Yeah its an accomplishment to get guys to sign on NLI day. However a much bigger accomplishment, in my opinion, is to get those guys to campus.
  16. I have a tough time buying this story as well. Perhaps Grobe was in the running and felt as though the job was his to lose. However, a guy with Grobe's credentials doesn't turn down a job at Nebraska over a couple coaches. That just doesn't happen.
  17. Lewis committing this weekend would be huge for momentum going into the season. The corn nation article appeared to be speculating and didn't have any info on Jalen Hall coming this weekend unless I missed something.
  18. Completely agree with this. Only thing I would add is I want to see better in game management to "on field" results.
  19. I dont know if Webster is the ideal 3 candidate but if White is gone, i guess i could see them run a bit of Watson/Gill/Webster. I think it would be a mistake to play Morrow at the 5. He needs to be a 4 and they need to allow Jacobson/Jordy play the 5. I think right now all signs point to White being gone. As such, I see a smaller back court with Watson, Gill and Webster (I don't think you can keep Webster on coming off the bench as a Senior in favor of McVeigh). Also, I see a rotation of Jacobson, Morrow, Jordy with Fuller grabbing a few minutes here and there. With the contribution that Jacobson gave on the boards last year I don't see Morrow starting over him but we will see. What signs are you reading? I am fairly certain he will be back. I just dont think he will get drafted at this point and can help his draft stock by coming back. Webster isnt a 3 in my opinion. I think he starts but it would be at the 2 with Gill getting the nod shortly after. Webster has no problem coming off the bench from what i have seen and McVeigh is a more traditional 3. Wait and see but with the lack of a true backup PG, Webster will have to play some 1 off the bench and doubt they have him play the 1,2 and 3. By all means I would love for him to come back but the fact he most likely will not be drafted still leaves him possibilities to be signed, the D league and Europe as noted before. The fact he has graduated is another factor weighing against him returning. I agree Webster isn't a natural 3 but it is not unheard of to put two point guards on the court at the same time. In fact, we saw a lot of Parker/Watson and Watson/Webster combos later in the year last year. I guess I should have clarified I think the starting line up will be Watson, Webster, Gill, Jacobson and Jordy. With Morrow and Fuller the first two off the bench and Webster spelling Watson and getting time as the main point.
  20. Delusional. Just because we get an offer into a kid before schools like Alabama doesn't mean they are offering just because we offered and vise versa.

  22. Great Win. Schrieber heating up at the right time. Hopefully he can keep it rolling into post season play.
  23. 1- Watson/Gill 2. Gill/Roby 3. Webster/McVeigh 4. Jacobson/Morrow/Fuller 5. Jordy/Morrow
  24. Anyone see reports or write-ups on his visit to the spring game?
