  1. It's pretty unfair to compare Tommy Armstrong to two Husker legends. Tommie Frazier wasn't exactly a good passer, but he was a monster on the option. Tommy has shown he can do some pretty special things with the option and he is a good passer when he uses his head.
  2. Are we doing the "Why don't we run screen plays, that's stupid" or "Why do we run screen plays, that's stupid" thing? here...hard to keep track sometimes Not a fan of the WR screen. I hope that Beck doesn't go all crapahan with the WR screen. Tom Osborne loved that screen. So do a lot of NFL coaches. Can't give Beck and Callahan all the credit/blame. I think a lot college football fans have a bad taste in their mouths about WR screens because of last season with Lane Kiffin. They ran a ton of WR screens at USC last season, and the other team could see it coming pretty much every time.
  3. You really didn't even bother reading my comment, did you? I said I would be happy with Tommy as our starting QB, but I'm excited to see what Johnny Stanton and JT can do. I don't think there's any chance in hell that JT will be our starting QB come fall, but it's exciting to think about. I wasn't talking about your post I was referencing hunter's post. I owe you one internet beer. Oh, jeez. Now I just look like an ass. I prefer Guinness, by the way.

  5. I.....wow..... I really enjoyed watching Armstrong play......Jesus I can't believe this is a serious post. Mind explaining to me what exactly is wrong with it?
  6. I would say he sometimes puts too much air on the ball because he lets his technique get sloppy and he throws off his back foot sometimes, a la Taylor Martinez. He has a Howitzer attached to his shoulder, so he just needs to have proper technique to get the ball anywhere on the field.
  7. I really hope he drops some DMX because hearing that on BTN makes me laugh every time. I think Ruff Ryders' Anthem would be good Tunnel Walk music.
  8. Bulls beat the Heat and the Lady Huskers win the conference title. Today is a good day!

  10. http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/football/article_eaf0d423-f1b6-561f-87e3-9c035de224f6.html#.UxvAcpTZhsE.twitter Pretty nice little article. Randy and Vincent are beasting it, as expected. Sounds like the defense is going to start off the year on the right foot for the first time in a while.
  11. Hail Varsity ‏@HailVarsity 1h Taylor Martinez told media today that scouts clocked him at a 4.28 40-yard dash, with a 39" vertical and 10'9" broad jump. #Huskers Best QB 40 at the Combine this year was 4.61 by Logan Thomas. "Recent Best" was 4.35 by Reggie McNeal in 2006. Unsure how far back "recent" is - 2006? Best QB Vertical was 35.5 by Logan Thomas. Recent Best was 40.0. Best QB Broad Jump was 9'10" by Logan Thomas. Recent Best was 10'8" by Brad Smith. Doesn't look like any 2014 QBs did Bench. Looks like few ever do but since 2006 there were only five guys with more than Martinez's 19. Edit: on the 40 times, the combine's are electronic but it looks like Taylor's were hand-held today. The nominal conversion is +0.24 seconds which would have put Martinez at 4.52. There have only been five faster than that since 2006 - Reggie McNeal, RGIII, Marcus Vick, Brad Smith and Tyrod Taylor. Jesus... I don't know if Taylor will make it in the league, but those are some ridiculous measurables. We all knew he was a crazy good athlete, but not that good.
  12. Sam Wyche is one of the greatest QB coaches in NFL history, but he wasn't that good of a QB in his playing days. Guess what, just because a guy isn't a great player doesn't mean he isn't a great coach.
  13. I see no reason why if our guys continue playing like this, they can't win the B1G tourney.

  14. Really hope Pitchford didn't get any structural damage on that knee. It looked pretty bad on the court.

  16. i do not like their standard of 'when in doubt'. boy, this will get ugly. I think they mean when in doubt throw it and then discuss with other officials. You can't retrospectively throw a flag. Sure you can. I've seen refs huddle up quite often after plays and discuss and then throw a flag. It happens quite often on intentional grounding calls.
  17. So, I'm talking to a friend of mind and he says Kate Upton's hips are too small. I don't know how to react to this.

Juuussst kidding. She'd get the bone alright.

  18. Looks like Damon Benning got a permanent gig, too. I really liked him on the sidelines last year. He seemed a bit awkward, but that's to be expected, seeing as how it's his first sideline job. He seems to have a really good rapport with the players and coaches, though.
  19. What's everyone think of the skyline driving into downtown from the interstate with the arena and the new addition to Memorial Stadium?
  20. C'mon, man. Kenny Bell came up with that joke. At least give him some credit. No he didn't. He tweeted it after hearing it from someone else Oh, my bad. Still, shouldn't repost a joke from Twitter for the sweet, sweet +1s without any attribution. Ok well make sure you go tell off Kenny for doing the same thing without attributing it to the person he heard it from. I don't have a Twitter account and I have no plans on making one for correcting Kenny's mistake.

  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21mYRtUmc8k Martinez hits 75% of his top speed in the first three steps. That's 15 mph in three steps, topping out at 20 mph. Dude, it's SCIENCE! that doesn't tell me anything. It doesn't tell me the other players speeds. It compares another sport but not another player. wut
  24. That must be it. I'm sure it had nothing to do with them being able to get talented players at low cost since nobody else wanted anything to do with them. Because if there's one thing Bill Belichick is known for, it's his integrity. I see. You just don't like Bill Belichick. What a surprise.
