  1. When did that happen? What part of the plan deviated and went to the pass a great deal? When did Beck get away from the same thing they have done all year? Why does 3 passes in a row change the complete identity of your offense? Would we even be talking about his if T-Mart had average passing skills and/or vision? Wisky stats look like the other 4 games. I don't want to hear the excuse they abandoned the pass in the 4 quarter so those numbers should just be for 3 quarters. No team is going to overcome 21 points off pathetic turnovers. 2. Yes I don't really want to insult anyone, so I won't answer this one. The drive charts show what I thought I saw Saturday. A team that was moving the ball using a 'balanced' attack. All the sudden 3 passes in a row makes you Drew Brees. Whether it be a fumble, penalty, sack or INT, T-Mart has proven his is not the guy to take this team to the next level. http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/playbyplay?gameId=312740275&period=2 http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/playbyplay?gameId=312740275&period=3
  3. I'm still trying to figure out the logic that Beck somehow stepped out of what he has been doing all year. Many of you make it sound like he went from Tommie Frazier option to Dan Marino. Didn't see it in the game and I don't see it in the stats. 4. You said they suck after watching them play Michigan State.
  5. This where you lost me. He is better in play action (and not that much), but I wouldn't say he really excels at anything.
  6. I believe that Gomes is the biggest loss on the team this year. Gomes was able to cover, but he made so many big open field tackles. He was always in position to make a play. Obviously it is easy to talk about Hagg and Prince, but I really miss Gomes.
  7. Good stuff man. I gave you some links if you want to take a look. I would encourage you to look at who is #1 in total defense and who is #64. Have a great day. http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/natlRank.jsp?year=2011&rpt=IA_teamtotdef&site=org&div=IA&dest=O
  8. Throw in Marlowe and why we can't recruit a QB and I'm with you.
  9. True Freshman Braxton Miller played most of the game and they really aren't letting him throw. They didn't start chucking it until Bowserman (not sure about spelling) came it in the 4th. They will move the ball on Saturday. Right now the Husker offense/defense will make any look better than they are. Thanks for that in depth analysis though.
  10. Agree 100%. We cannot be a successful football team if our QB cant throw the football. Plain and simple. Watch the first quarter. He can throw the football. Then watch the second quarter/first play of the second half. We threw the ball 14 times out of 15 plays. Tim Beck decided that he was Steve Spurrier and he had Danny Wuerffel at QB. That's not balanced offense. That's not what this offense should be. It's one thing to blame Martinez for not being able to pass well enough to run a balanced offense - but he did, we had a balanced offense that was humming in the first quarter. The problem is, Martinez can't pass well enough to run the fun-n-gun offense, and that's what why we fell apart. The more distance I get from this game, the more blame I put on Tim Beck for the offensive performance... sadly, the defense was even worse, just no one even knows where to begin on that side of the ball. Yes he threw the football well in the first quarter, and he threw the football well against Okie lite last year. But since he's been a starter, he hasn't thrown the ball well consistently. This year he's completed less than 50% of his passes. In Beck's offense, we cannot survive with a QB that can't complete half of his passes. We can't expect Beck to call plays on every 3rd and long that give Martinez a wide open receiver...No offense works that way. Beck called so many pass plays because our WRs were open. It's not crazy for Beck to expect Taylor to hit an open receiver. This game is on Taylor, not Beck. I should have read this first......you nailed it.

He can not, and will not, ever be able to 'consistently' make the throw when he has to. Sure, he has proven he is going to make it stick to the wall every once in a while. Several of us have been saying this for about a year and nothing has changed. It shouldn't be a news flash. I don't get the Beck play calling thing at all. All these runs that wouldn't work would be eerily similar to Solich or Watson. Like he should have a book that says Martinez can only throw on this down and distance or this many consecutive times. Receivers are OPEN! Teams have been selling out on our run for over year and people still think we should go three an out on three two yard runs. I can't figure it out. Obviously there is no way for me to prove it, but this offense would be pretty impressive with a 'Decent' QB IMO.
  12. I'm curious of what your definition of 'loaded' is. If it means anything other than we have many QB's on scholie's then I couldn't disagree more. We have two with playing time. Green is not the man. I'm in the camp that believes we still don't know what we have with T-Mart yet. Carnes looked great in the spring game (which is a practice). I'm going to go out on the limb and say we don't have much. If we have a scholy to burn for one year, why not give it a try? Since you brought it back I'll take the opportunity to gloat.
  13. He's not RG3, but he was far from a INT machine. http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/stats/_/id/162701/joe-ganz
  14. The best way for a DB to defend against Martinez is to let the receiver run past you. Only after you are three step behind are you in perfect position for a pick. It takes a lot of practice to get beat by just the right amount of steps.
  15. Unfortunately, I somewhat agree. IF we don't shut down, we could have to play them again. But, this is where we differ; I don't want to play them again this year. No way we improve that much in about 8 weeks. Only hope would be that they come in WAY over confident and we discover a QB who can throw the ball when forced to. I think we can get a lot better in eight weeks. Our defense looked pretty bad against Texas Tech in 09, and seven weeks later looked like the absolute best in the country. The problem I have with this view is that we would be putting Wisconsin on a pedestal. Basically saying that they were unbeatable. This is the exact same team as 2010 and can lose to anyone. Everyone knows how to stop the offense, but only a few are able to do it. Obviously, the defense doesn't help. There will be 2-3 more loses this year.
  16. The mouse in his pants. That is all. Why does he have a mouse in his pants? I got it for you Matthew.
  17. It's his ankle....ah he's a sophomore......ah Beck's playcalling sucked.....ah he's not coached the right way....ah.......
  18. I don't agree with the Heisman, but Lord was severely underrated. I'd take that dude now.
  19. Unacceptable tweet and I would bench him indefinitely.
  20. I don't necessarily disagree with you. The problem I have is at what point do you have no choice but make a change. I think you have to understand that you are going to have a 'temporary' drop off in an effort to improve the 'long term' outlook of the program.
