  1. Everyone was asking what was wrong with Prince last year when Weeden-Blackmon had a century to throw.
  2. I get so tired of comparing scores. It isn't the same thing. We could sit back and let the X-Box play game if you guys want. IT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING.
  3. Three guys went to the NFL. Hagg, Gomes and Prince. When is the last time Nebraska had three DB's go to the NFL in one year? Pass rush is suspect in my opinion. Our corners look a slow in their back peddle and turns, but I don't think they are doing that bad. Our corners need a pass rush and some safety help on the long ball. I'm not putting it all on Raymond.
  4. That's what I thought too... still waiting for some video or a .gif I'm with you two. I think the ball hit Washington player before Marlowe which would make this entire conversation irrelevant. What I don't understand is how if you really want to break it down, Rex getting destroyed on that punt wasn't a penalty. How in the hell could that be legal?
  5. 1. Shawn Watson is gone. I love the game game the Beck called from beginning to end. It was so far from predictable. In the end, he was wearing them down and he stuck with it. 2. We don't need to burn a running back scholly for another 3 years. Burkhead is the go to guy, but we have three guys that can actually get to the corner. 3. I thought T-Mart played to the best of his ability. I have been critical of his play, but I thought he played well. He covered the ball, threw it out of bounds and didn't take a delay of game. The problem I still have is that a QB like Ganz or Zach Taylor would throw for 500 yards with the weapons that are on the field. 4. We have big play receivers. Kyler Reed is going to get destroyed getting hung out over the middle sometime this season. 5. I hope when Dennard is back we start seeing more blitzes. I don't think the secondary is great, but they need some help with pressure. I couldn't tell from a lot of the replays, but there were several instances when the safeties (Cassidy) wasn't there to help the corners in the long ball. 6. Maher is still a stud. 7. Dumb penalties and turnovers have been minimized so far this year. 8. The kids don't give up in a 'shootout' game. I'm concerned that we don't have everything in place to consistently compete in a shootout. 9. I throw up in my mouth when everyone talks about Wisconsin. The way this team has looked the last couple years they can loose to/beat anyone. It just depends who shows up. I'm getting tired of everyone pointing to one game.
  6. I hope more people share this view. I saw a lot of stumbles and trips by the secondary which resulted in a lot of receiver getting a step or two. Very rarely was there a pass completed when there was any pressure on the QB. Pelini hasn't abandoned the rush 4 mentality even though Suh isn't here anymore. I don't think the secondary is a bad as it may look to some.
  7. It's not dead. Some games are easier then others. This game is kind of a snore for me when it comes to finding sarcasm and humor. I don't recall an epic Baylor thread.
  8. I think this is what people are mostly concerned about, and the conversation has taken a while to work its way around to this. The worry isn't that we score from 60 yards out, it's that we get too many completely unproductive drives. That's a concern, but hopefully as the season progresses we'll get better at this offense and those will go away. We'll also start doing things to make defenses pay for stacking the box, and I expect to see a couple of plays this week that will exploit that. Washington's best bet is to hope we run the ball and that they stuff us with more bodies at the point of attack. We have plays designed to exploit this - it's just a matter of executing them, to use Bo's favorite word. I'm betting we see that as well. "Now" is the time to unleash the new offense. I think the point that many of us are making is that you have to be able to make those plays that 'exploit' the defensive gamble. If anything has been hidden, I think it's Turner. I wouldn't be surprised if he is taking some direct snaps, screens, reverses or short passes. Kind of off the subject, but don't be surprised when Maher takes off on a fake punt or field goal. The dude has game and I'm sure the coaches know that. He's as much of an athlete as he is a kicker.
  9. Living on the big play will wear out your defense at some point. You are prone to many 3 and outs. We can't have our defense on the field the whole game. I called this offense 'big play or bust' in October 2010 and took a little abuse. The two games this this year are deja vu as far as I'm concerned. I hope I'm wrong, but the offense will be non existent several games this year.
  10. Not to get off the subject, but why does Tim Marlowe return kicks?.....or play WR.
  11. For those of you that want to see Carnes you just need to be patient. Those long runs when they aren't really needed are fun to watch. Wide open receivers slowing down against WAC DB's so that can catch the ball works now. Carnes will come in the next few games with Martinez is completely ineffective. The Huskers will be down by 14+ and the opposing defense will be bringing the house against the inexperienced QB. Carnes will really have little chance of being effective and it will once again show that the cupboard may be bare. Sincerely, Cody Green - Tulsa
  12. I'm so Tired of Wisconsin already. Give it a rest people!
  13. I am on board with you. As ridiculous as this may sound, I still think that Suh was underrated if you really look it. I believe Crick is better than most, but an athlete like Suh may not be seen for some time. The D-Line is still carry a reputation that he was a 'huge' part of building and he hasn't suited up for over a year.
  14. I'm not saying that our DB's our great....don't read this the wrong way. There is not a DB group in the country that can be consistent without a pass rush.
  15. Ankle Injury. Everything will be ok. Ankle Injury.
  16. This is an old one from last year. Probably more appropriate now then it was last year.
  17. He's a poet. He'll probably get an award on the White House lawn next week.
  18. I like seeing Suh driving his 'Chrysler' Range Rover.
