  1. Iowa's last 5 years of out of conference games. Miami (OH) Iowa St NDSU (1AA) they beat Iowa Wyoming North Texas Northern Illinois UNI (1AA) Middle Tennessee St Kent St Colorado St
  2. Fans will hate it and opposing fanbases and media will mock us BUT this is a good decision by Moos. We already have to now play @ Illinois in the opener who we just lost to and they return lots of players as we do. New coach but this game will be a tough one. You then come back and play a Buffalo team who is no slouch either. Then you want us to go lose at Oklahoma (that's what would have happened). Possibly then 1-2 and the walls are caving in on Frost and Nebraska early. We already have crossover games of Michigan, Michigan St and Ohio State. FROST NEEDS DUBS. Period. People look at your record. I've seen teams schedule patsies for the past decade and no one cares - they look at your record. We aren't there yet. We need to get wins and confidence in this team.
  3. He started for Michigan this past season and you think he would come here to be a backup? 0%
  4. Ohio St & Oklahoma have shown to be the only teams not beatable, though IMO both will be slightly less good than they were in 2020. All other games are toss ups outside of SE LA & Buffalo (though a sneaky good team). 9 games you have to come out and coach/play smart football. I think our experienced defense will help a ton this year and getting the three main transfers in January helps as well. Illinois is the most critical game in Frost's tenure. Must win game where we can build off and get this thing going forward.
  5. 8/10 since we joined the conference and were never in the same division...that's very high.
  6. can you add Weaver to the top 6? I'll prolly be the only one to do so
  7. You know the drill....I didn't include transfers Thomas Fidone Ru'Quan Buckley James Carnie Randolph Kpai Teddy Prochazka Jailen Weaver Sleeper: Koby Bretz
  8. if the numbers don't end in 'th' then that's how many we had on the year. Ex. we allowed 16 sacks on the year and forced 13
  9. B10 Ranks Average Yards Per Play Offense (6th) Average Yards Per Play Defense (6th) Average Yards Per Carry Offense (T-2nd) Average Yards Per Carry Defense (6th) Average Yards Per Pass Offense (9th) ranked ahead of NW and Iowa who went #1/#2 in the West Average Yards Per Pass Defense (7th) First Downs Per Game Offense (5th) First Downs Per Game Defense (7th) Red Zone TD% (51%) need to get this to at least 60% and we would see a large improvement Third Down Conversion Offense (10th) Third Down Conversion Defense (9th) Fourth Down Conversion Offense (4th) Fourth Down Conversion Defense (12th) Sacks Given Up (16) Sacks By (13) Interceptions Thrown (9) Interception Takeaways (5) Penalties (11th) Punts Inside 20 (12th) Net Kickoffs (14th) Areas to improve on most for 2021 1. Improve Red Zone TD% It was nice having a kicker who made FG, but still doesn't help only kicking FG inside the 20. Have to get a little less cute in the red zone and pound the ball to Stepp and for sure have AM find our big target TE and WR. Allen, Voke, Fidone, Samori and Betts are all capable here. 2. Special Teams needs to improve on kickoffs and punts Hopefully a new ST assistant can help improve these units. A big factor for punting will be if a healthy Cerni can be what he was talked about coming in with his Rugby background. 3. Need more chunk plays downfield Frost needs to change up his play calling for the upcoming season to match what we will have on the field. Stepp and Scott will be the two power backs as of now and need some more spark with Sevion or Thompkins if healthy. Samori and Betts will help the vertical pass game quite a bit with their length. Have some big targets at TE and adding in an athletic Fidone. 4. Defense needs to force more turnovers I felt our defense held up much better than it did a year ago, especially down in the red zone -- we still struggle some on 3rd and long. Defense has been hitting the weights, but we need to see some more turnovers. Ranked 113th which some of this is due to the less attacking approach and ability to get to the QB. Getting basically the whole defense back we should see improvement here. 5. Improve turnover margin (123rd) Not only are we not getting turnovers, we are giving them away too much at crucial times. Offense ranked 119th in giveaway in 2020. We will see a lot of new faces on offense once again, but 4th year starter Martinez needs to be the glue to fix this issue the most. That includes not putting the ball on the turf when running.
  10. I'm not saying to stop recruiting them, but they can no longer be the focal point of the offense like we tried to run through Wandale. We aren't Ohio St and won't get those type of guys to compete where we want. Running a no huddle with average playmakers = very bad offense.
  11. I get not all of these guys were recruited to specifically be the duck-r but we were told these smaller shifty WRs would make this offense go. Tyjon Lindsey - transfer Miles Jones - transfer Jaron Woodyard - transfer Mike Williams - transfer JD Spielman - transfer Marcus Fleming - transfer Wandale Robinson - transfer *Class of 21' - no WR under 6'2 Time to run the power spread Mr. Frost -- and I think you have figured that out with bigger WR, TE, RB. Let's turn this program around. #GBR
  12. You don't need a waiver anymore...get one free pass
  13. I'd take TJ Carter from Memphis. Instant starter for us in the secondary -- if he would give us a look that is.
  14. I said the same thing. He is 5'8 without top end speed. He def is a loss and a good player but I think kids feel if you aren't in the playoff you can't go high in the draft.
  15. It was a list I made a few days ago for players I would take from the portal. Twitter can be an indication but isn't the end all. I've seen many kids like and retweet stuff of other schools then commit here.
  16. (RB) Markese Stepp -- USC (CB) Tyrique Stevenson -- Georgia (WR) Charleston Rambo -- Oklahoma (OG) Liam Dobson -- Maine (OLB) Owen Carney -- Illinois (OG) CJ Thorpe -- Penn St (DB) Jordan Moore -- Texas A&M (DB) Julius Brents -- Iowa (WR) Ricky Smalling -- Illinois (RB) Kevin Marks Jr -- Buffalo
  17. Farniok isn't much of a loss imo but who plays guard opposite of Piper this year? Still think Nash woulda been a monster at OG, but he's set on DL for now.
  18. He was alright, improved but still was bad in vertical coverage.
  19. I like a lot of our young DBs but they were either hurt or haven't seen the field yet. CTB - baller Farmer - season ending injury Clark - season ending injury Wright - season ending injury Newsome - saw some PT Pola Gates - no PT Gifford - no PT Lynum - no PT Jospeh - no PT
  20. We need help most from the DBs - especially depth. I'd take Marquis Waters from Duke at safety. Started last 3 years for them. Antwan Collier from UCF would be a good pick up as well, but was arrested in October so I'm sure we no longer will look there. Julius Brents from Iowa is a solid player as well. Jammie Robinson from SC would be a good DB and Returner.
  21. Nebraska does nothing but benefit from having all the Seniors leave IMO outside of Culp and JoJo. Iowa for sure has a lot of good seniors that would be nice if they all left.
  22. Here are the Seniors across the B10 who started or made an impact along with a few underclassmen who might go pro. 23. The SRs that choose to come back - do they have to be enrolled in classes?
