My guess is that you are too young to remember Tom Osborne's first ten years against the Sooners of Oklahoma. If it is any consolation, I know how you feel, based on Barry Switzer and Jamelle Holloway. Nah, I remember those years really well. Holloway was a premier triggerman of that Wishbone attack, and watching him carve us up wasn't enjoyable. But this....this is so much different. We fell off the cliff 15 years ago and just continue to plummet. I'm hopeful that some day we will truly turn the corner, but losing to these Yahoo!'s year in and year out while collectively (historically) struggling to put away really any Big 10 team on a consistent basis is just disheartening. We've had a nice run this year in games we SHOULD win, when do we start winning ones we shouldn't or ines which are a toss up? Hadn't thought of it this way until right at this moment, but this isn't really how it works. In a season where you win all the games you should and some you shouldn't, you got lucky with the games you shouldn't have won. When we really turn the corner is when all of the games on our schedule are games we should win, and we win them all. I guess a better way to talk about it is to call them "big games" instead of toss ups or games we shouldn't win.

Maybe, maybe not. If we beat OSU and they win their next two after, all that needs to happen is Penn State to drop one and Michigan to drop one for "The Game" to be the B1G East decider. (I think. PSU is at 2 conf losses but holds tiebreaker over OSU, Michigan needs to lose one and then lose to OSU and OSU would have the tiebreaker over them). Sure, lot's of hypotheticals. But assuming everybody else wins the games they're "supposed" to. If we beat OSU then lost to Iowa or Minny, or Maryland, we're right back in the same boat as if we were to lose to OSU and win the rest. And assuming everybody wins the games they're supposed to, if we beat OSU we would likely get Michigan in the CCG. That would be fun. I want to play Michigan. Unless we lose to OSU and end up in the B1G championship. Then I want us to have a 2nd chance at OSU.

Wyoming knocked off Boise, so they are not hurting us. If NW can beat Wiscy next week then it does not matter if we beat OSU. If we win out after OSU we go to INDY!! So we have to be NW fans for at least one day. I know. That's why I was saying they would be ranked today if not for that loss. Because they beat Boise State. They maybe should be ranked anyway.

That one flew right over my head. Clearly. The comparisons to Iowa were because Iowa didn't lose in the regular season but they didn't play anyone decent until the B1G title. Now that we've lost, we won't have to hear how we're 2016 Iowa. It was clearly supposed to be a joke. Like, "thank goodness we lost, now we don't have to hear that anymore."

The "all losses are equal" argument is very weird to me. Yes, in the loss column, they're the same. But you can learn and improve from a 1 to 14 point loss and see hope in the future. When you lose by 40 points, what do you learn from that? It's a giant mountain facing you and it's hard as hell to see any hope in ever climbing to the top of it.

This may set up better for our playoff bid if we can pull out the win The nice thing (although this is a huge hypothetical based on us beating OSU) is since they have 2 losses, we wouldn't have to play them again as long as Michigan has 0 or 1 conference losses. So even if OSU beats Michigan, they won't have a revenge game against us.

If Wyoming hadn't lost to Eastern Michigan (by 3 points) they'd be ranked today. If they win out I think they'll end up ranked.

Maybe they're calling them related to the investigation solely because they're Huma's emails. Maybe it's a device she didn't tell them about. It is apparently a laptop that she shared with her now ex husband. I guess they forgot to acid wash that hard drive. So who knows what they have on the laptop that is pertinent to both investigations. I have a feeling it's not going to be anything worse than we've already seen. Probably duplicate copies. But time will tell.

I think this loss will definitely make us come out hungry and with a chip on our shoulder, but at the same time, Urban is what, 32-2 at home as OSU head coach? I'm not predicting us to win but I definitely feel much more comfortable and confident that we'll be in it to the end. Yes the odds are against us. Just going with my gut.

Agreed here. Losing this game hasn't gotten me near as down as losses usually do. I really think we can win out now. I even think the game will be a confidence builder for the players.
