  1. You go on with your judgmental self zoogs. We can make an argument that everyone on here is influenced by some media outlet. We can make that argument. The thing is, nobody here made the claim that they aren't influenced by anyone. Except for you. If you actually read the thread above, a specific accusation was made by BRB that I am influence by right-wing media/propaganda which I refuted, and then went on to make the point that everyone is influenced by media in one way or another. I simply pointed out that I am not influenced by a certain type of media as BRB was suggesting, so nice try. Oh, I did actually read it. I'm responding to this: That's what you said. What BRB specifically asked isn't relevant.
  2. Thanks for the compliment. I started watching elections when I was 10 and have followed politics closely since then. We are stuck in an election with 2 lousy candidates, but it seems most on here want to spend more time just criticizing one, so yes, there is some counter-balancing needed. I'm frankly amazed we are looking at a 4 to 6 point race still at this point given how bad of a month Trump has had and the fact Trump has yet to spend any money on advertising. I think we will see this race tighten once we get past labor day. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/pow-its-just-a-2-point-race-clinton-38-trump-36/article/2599471 I realize Nate Silver is not a fan of Zogby since Zogby relies on Internet Surveys, but I think this article from Pew is pretty intriguing at the difference responses provided between phone and online surveys. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/poll-wars-pew-says-internet-polls-often-more-accurate-candid-than-phone-surveys/article/2564575 I think you are being very mislead by the "4-6 point race". Trump now has roughly about an 13% chance of winning. https://twitter.com/FiveThirtyEight/status/765896535242571776 Something catastrophic would have to happen to the Clinton campaign. That is if you put all your stock in what Nate Silver is projecting. Also, if this election were held today, Trump would lose hands down. At this point in 1988 Dukakis was beating Bush Sr by 15 points. I think this race is far too fluid to be calling it now. The LA Times poll is back down to a 1 point lead for Hillary, and I project by tomorrow Trump will be tied or have taken the lead in that poll. The Reuters poll has the race back at 4 points, the Pew poll has it also at 4 points, and the Rasmussen poll is at 2 points. The fact that the polls continue to be fluid in the margins show that voters have not made up their minds yet. I believe most of the LA Times polls in the last 3 months have had Trump leading.

  4. Do you think everyday citizens should decide this? If not, then you agree your question is silly. You have a strong opinion on who should be allowed in/deported, but his question on how many should be deported is silly? What? I will ask you.. DO you think everyday citizens should decide this? So Strong opinion now gives me the power to deport whoever I want? Silly! Buster isn't asking you to personally decide which people to deport. He's asking your opinion, since you have a strong opinion on the subject. Your responses to his question are a hell of a lot sillier than the question itself. Me having an opinion on that matter has nothing to do with how many would actually need to be deported. I know you think you have some kind of gotcha but you don't. A government agency would decide that, and if it is only one person and it makes this country safer, then so be it. If it is 10,000, then so be it. My opinion on numbers would be meaningless. I don't even know what a gotcha is. That's some bullsh#t Sara Palin made up when she didn't want to answer a simple question or didn't know how. right, of course you don't!! Exactly. It's some bullsh#t Sara Palin made up when she didn't want to answer a simple question or didn't know how. It's not a real thing.

  6. Who said they aren't considered? Banning an entire religion from immigrating when a small minority cause problems is just, well, plain ignorant. Well, you sure made it sound like you were saying it with your comment above. Obviously you need to consider the big picture and any attack that occurs outside the US. If violence in regions is escalating, then people from those regions require more scrutiny, that's a no brainer. You also need to consider the micro level here at home though, which is arguably most important. That's what I meant. We don't have nearly the problems that the rest of the world has from immigrants/refugees. We also do a decent job of vetting our refugees, and immigrants recieve several checks as well. So why do we need to ban an entire religion from entering due to the problems caused by a small minority, i.e. one person? To the bold, do you have any facts to back this or is it just your opinion? To your question about the bold, I'm currently having breakfast with 4 non-citizens who had to go through a rigorous process at the U.S. Embassy in their country in order to get short term visas. Fact is there are crazy people out there who do crazy things. This issue gets way too much focus. I'll repeat what I said in another topic: Russia has killed more than 5 times more European civilians than terrorists have killed European or American civilians in the past 2.5 years.

  9. He got his brand out to the public? Everyone already knew about it. We were saturated with it. What he got out to the public were his bigoted views. Everyone already knew about those already as well. No, they didn't. I thought he was a rude idiot who didn't like Obama. I didn't know how bigoted he was. There have been interviews and articles in the past with quotes that show this but they weren't in most people's awareness until now.

  11. I've had a semi-positive view of him since then but he's said some really stupid things lately.
  12. Yes you can. I hate the Huskers for making me care enough about a stupid sport that I sometimes get stressed over it.
  13. I like the above post. I got pulled over once and had to do the whole test on the side of the road (I wasn't drunk as it had been 4 hours since my last drink and I hadn't had a ton, but I was tired and the police officer saw me swerve a little). Anyhow, that scared the sh#t out of me and I don't even come close to putting myself into that position anymore. I just can't imagine someone who's not an alcoholic having 2-3 DUIs and an alcohol-related careless driving ticket. If he's not an alcoholic, why is it so hard for him to stop doing this?
  14. I don't have a problem with people assuming he's an alcoholic. When something like this happens to him so many times and he still keeps doing it, it screams that there's an addiction involved. IMO a big part of the definiton of addiction is/should be that you keep doing the thing you're addicted to even if it hurts you or people you care about. You know it hurts but you keep doing it. It would be very rare for someone who's not addicted to alcohol to put themselves in this position 4 times. If he weren't an alcoholic you'd think he would have learned his lesson after the first time. It's generally an addiction that causes you to make the same detrimental mistake over and over.
  15. Why are multiple people acting like this is the first issue he's had and like his job is the same as all other jobs? Lots of people are in jobs where this doesn't have a big effect on how well they can do the job. That's not the case with Williams.
  16. It sucks for us but be should definitely be fired. Not all jobs require you to not get DUIs. A job coaching 18-22 year olds should. These athletes are around parties and alcohol a lot. They need someone who practices what they preach to be doing the preaching. Just saw it was not a DUI but not sure if it changes my opinion. And to those who think we'd be throwing him out on the streets, he should have plenty of $ by now and would likely find another job in 1-2 years where that team can say he's solved his problem. That's how these things usually work.
  17. Maybe he's saying Bin Laden was a radical terrorist. Not a radical Islamic terrorist Or... Technically he's right. I mean, Obama was alive. So it wasn't before Obama
  18. What the hell is this? Accuracy is the number of completions a QB has per passes he attempts.
  19. I'm at UNL graduation. The new chancellor sounds like a southern Ben Stein.

  20. This sh#t is so effing old. This is the type of stuff crazed staunch supporters of either party do (after they lose fair and square). Not the damn nominee.
  21. I don't like the word panties. I have heard a lot of people say that. Is it just one of those words? I HATE saying swimming trunks. No idea why but it just creeps me out. Moist. Nipple. (Not together... that's worse)
  22. You're not finding it because the place where Clinton is accused of calling her a liar is in the quote I originally provided, and it never happened.
