  2. So the 40 of Busch light in the upper left corner is multiple things?
  3. I'd beat down multiple doors for 200k a year. At the end of the day he landed a D1, power 5 job...that is way better job than the majority of coaching jobs out there. You can bet there were plenty of candidates for that job.
  4. I believe this is an extra $3600That is incorrect, off campus scholarship athletes have always received at minimum the equivalent of room and boardRight, and this isn't changing. Everything I've heard about COA is that it's basically a "whatever" striped like the old "laundry money" players used to get, just a substantially larger amount. And I was asking how much more of an increase it was. Scholarship athletes have been given $ for years. He told you, $3,600. This isn't the same as room and board stipends. I understand, the previous number that is now 3600 wasn't zero. I am pretty sure this is a completely new allowance. So the previous was zero. But if you can find somewhere saying they received money before please post it. But this is suppose to be on top of everything they received before. You're right, previously they probably received a little more than zero. Doesn't mean that money was legally given to them. Now it is. Along with what existed. Polo, that was always against the rules. Find something that shows me it wasn't and that we did it. This is from Washington Huskies and USC site, and is the standard for all D1 NCAA universities. If you live off campus you receive at or above the amount that you would receive for room and board on campus. If you've ever noticed, athletes all live off campus after their first year because you can find cheaper rent. Since the university is required to provide what is needed for on campus living to all student athletes, that means more money in their pocket. http://www.gohuskies.com/fls/30200/old_site/pdf/genrel/scholarship-info.pdf?DB_OEM_ID=30200 http://www.usc.edu/admission/fa/grants_scholarships/undergraduates/athleticawards.html
  5. If I was being paid $3+ million as part of a buyout on top of the salary he is getting at Youngstown, I would take a job in my hometown too. It's not a matter of him dropping to FCS, but more his choice to do so.Wonder which jobs he turned down. When he basically confirmed during audiogate 1 this was a stepping stone job for him, who would have guessed he was actually looking to take a huge step down? Just seems counterintuitive. Less stress, hometown, out of the spotlight he created for himself, still getting paid like a top coach...you're right though it's counter intuitiveOr maybe it was simply the best job he was offered. Occam's razor and such. the best head coaching job offered, probably. But you have admit with the other variables I have stated, that's a pretty sweet gig. So why go be a DC somewhere in D1 just because. I wouldn't say I'm needing to be scraped of pelini's jock, I'm logically stating that he took a job that has a ton of upside for him personally other than football

I totally agree with this...It is like those guys that played in the pros, set for life and they go coach High School ball...why not, it is fun, they don't need the cash. What is Bo, around 45? He can coach at YSU, let his kids attend and graduate from Cardinal Mooney, and then maybe Bo will look to go back into big-time coaching. Or he can stay at YSU for 20 years, and enjoy his life. Every situation is different, I don't know why people get all caught up with "oh yeah, Bo is so lame he ended up at crappy YSU." How could Blow and Jim Tressel want to really end up at Y. St. ? They have egos and usually a "big name" who ends up at small college or high school has screwed up somewhere. When Blow was "caught" on tape a couple years ago saying "it won't be long and I am out of here".......he was not thinking Y St, and rolling into the Dakota Dome next September . For $3M a year an ego can take a hit and roll into South Dakota. Tressel was the most successful coach in YSU history so it's not too much of a stretch for him to be employed by them while he has to wait for his show cause to expire.

  9. Riley retained Warren to help bridge the gap between the players and the coaches just like bo did with Watson, and Callahan did with Gill. It's a common practice in coaching, definitely not a rule but happens more than you would think.
  10. Just remember he did this in 2012 and was blasted for it by the university. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7863307/nebraska-cornhuskers-assistant-ron-brown-confusing-faith-rights To someone like Riley, who has never worked with Ron Brown, why would you keep him around?
  11. He is not an embarrassment to NU, he no longer plays here. He is now an embarrassment to the Lions and the NFL. Lmao. He is not a thug. He is emotional, and has a temper, but a thug come on! I really don't think that he should have been suspended, and what was funny to me watching the game and seeing it live was he got blocked back into him and he stepped back stepped down and walked off. When they replay it in SLOW MOTION a dozen times and keep saying how long he stayed on him and how he didn't jump off quickly well I can see how some would get it in their heads that it was egregious. He got suspended because of his past and Raiola's stomp. First step, accident. 2nd step, totally on purpose once he realised what he stepped on the first step. Made no attempt to get off quickly or even turn around to see what Rodgers was mad about. It was pretty obvious to me. When you step on someone, you know it and the reaction (when on accident) is much, much different. He has turned into a thug. Todays day and age, the NFL isn't going to tolerate him much more. Once again thug is not the right word and it's appalling that it is being used to describe someone who's job is to play a game as one.
  12. Haha do you know what a thug is? off the field he is probably one of the best guys at representing the NFL. But stepping on a leg = shooting someone for shorting them drug money in your opinion
  13. I'd say they are better since Meredith isn't required to play DT at 250 lbs. if you are strictly looking at sacks to judge your opinion of Gregory you are way off base. The fact coaches have to dedicate time to gameplan how they will cut, double, and chip him on all pass plays means he's a game changer
  14. because hes had 4 god damn weeks to get this sh#t out of his system and go out as a proud HUSKER. Not a damn Boliever. Perfectly depicts all the problems with the program inside and out over the past 7 years. Us vs world. At least under Riley us fans will be back on the US side. 4 weeks to completely rid himself of a 5+ year relationship, especially as one as public as this firing...ok
  15. You're right...pelini had a rough game while injured for the season. Good research though.
  16. Yeah, AA couldn't have picked up 3 yards. The beauty of this is we will never know, the ol coulda woulda shoulda argument. Nobody wins
  17. Posts about Barney doing a good job? I must have went to the wrong site
  18. Interesting point, I guess we have different definitions of folding
  19. I don't recall Banderas's leg falling off when he was replaced by Roach?
  20. I heard that for him to leave Bama, he has to have At least a coordinator position, per his contract. Not sure if true. No coach in his right mind would sign a contract like that. That's nuts. No way that's true. Bama can't just "own" coaches. Pretty sure free will is still a thing. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/10/23/oklahoma-state-sues-former-assistant-now-at-texas/ It's actually pretty common to prevent lateral moves. "According to Oklahoma State’s lawsuit, Wickline’s contract with Cowboys allowed him to leave without financial penalty only if he took a job as a head coach or offensive coordinator with play-calling duties."
  21. The worst part of this UAB deal is they were shut down by the Alabama state board, not their schools board. Coincidently bear Bryant's son currently has a seat on the state board and he doesn't like UAB and is retiring in February...this is his parting gift
  22. Sort of strange how mum he has been on this whole thing. Probably because he doesn't want to deal with the BS people will tweet at him for whatever he says. Or him and ameer are being leaders by staying quiet and keeping this team together knowing that they still have one game left.
  23. You're right, putting the associate head coach in charge for one game. THE dumbest move that could have been done by the AD.
  24. He was the assistant head coach...pretty obvious
