  1. This was tweeted via 'Huskers' twitter account earlier today. "BTN Mark Silverman just said that the network has reached an agreement w/ two more Nebraska TV providers: Charter & Cox #Huskers"
  2. Carnes will still have a better career...
  3. I hate facebook spam. This is getting rediculous.

  4. Is it not possible to suffer a career ending injury in the big leagues as well? Juss sayin...
  5. Lavonte David: 125 Austin Cassidy: 100 Jered Crick: 75
  6. Steven M. Sipple: Baseball scouts flock to break down Bubba Which path Starling ultimately chooses is anybody's guess. He chuckles when he hears people insist they know his plans. They don't know anything about him or what he's thinking, he says. "I'm mature, but I don't know if I'm quite ready for the next step," he says, referring to a quick jump to pro baseball and, by extension, manhood. His mom has said she thinks "college would be really good for him." Starling smiles as he talks about new Nebraska offensive coordinator Tim Beck's recent visit to Gardner. They went through the new playbook, says Starling, a dual-threat quarterback. "That made me excited to go up there," he says. "And I can't wait to fish and hunt with Cody Green."
  7. Wow, I'm just curious as to what you consider yourself??? If we are "little mousies".
  8. I am going to reiterate what LadyHawke said earlier - "Going to college does more than just give you a degree. It allows one to mature, to build intellect, athleticism and especially character." Some people, especially a young man such as Bubba, don't need alot of money to make a living. He will have plenty of opportunities in the future to do that. The fact that he is even weighing the possibility of turning down millions should tell you that money is not #1 on his list of priorities.
  9. I'll trade you my college degree for 6 million. College educations are likely one of the most overrated societal dogmas in modern life. Like I said, An education actually means something to some people. When your 70 yrs old looking back on your life I am sure you would think differently.
  10. I think the success of his future is the deciding factor. Sure, with his ability he could tear it up in the minors, but when it comes to taking the next step... is he going to be a pro football or pro baseball player or maybe some other career? That's what is so tough for him to decide right now. MLB would be the easy route for him right now (financially as well), But he is a well grounded kid and does not want to do just what's easy... He wants to succeed for years to come and wants to see and prove to everyone what he's really made of. He could benefit from playing two sports, getting a degree, and possibly more money down the road. He should build his character by proving himself on another level. His family would understand, and would be very supportive of him in college I'm sure. Although there are risks, the players that make it through will stand out. An education actually means something to some people.
  11. 11-3 Losses to Wisconsin and Michigan St. in regular season. We will make the Big 10 Title game, but lose to Ohio State. We will redeem our title game loss and win the bowl game.
  12. If people weren't criticizing Twitter it would be Facebook or MySpace etc... Social media has been around for years and it's not going anywhere anytime soon. And I honestly don't see anything wrong with what Yoshi said. I feel an athelete should be able to say what he truly feels. The team is the players and organization as a whole who make it, he is part of the team... isn't he? I'd rather hear what the players are really thinking. Not a bunch of watered down bull.
  13. But what's so funny about this is, all of that (minus the "low football IQ," which you can't possibly judge from your easy chair) can be explained by two words: Redshirt Freshman. And the alternative is to start........................................................... another Redshirt Freshman. Who, when IT hits the fan, may very well: Get injured Throw off his back foot Stare down a receiver Have no progression ability Have accuracy issues Have no pocket presence Have no drop-back routine Have issues getting rid of the ball Have trouble breaking down coverage Have game management issues Etc But despite all that, he's better than the guy who we had last year, and we know that because he had gaudy High School film (and we'll forget that the last guy had that, too) and because we saw him run 20 plays in a scrimmage. So because he is young he's aloud to forget the BASICS of the position? As far as his IQ, listen to Taylor's post spring-game interview. Reporter: "With the new offense how would you assess your development as a quarterback?" Taylor's Response: "Uhmm... it's like... in this offense we have to learn... like.. you know.. a lot more stuff and what last year's cuz this offense we hafta pretty much like... setup protections the plays... and which pretty much like everything... so." I don't know what it takes to convince people that he's not the answer.. maybe another cringe-worthy season. But for those who are blinded by all the flashy stats, replays, and awards... I hope you open your eyes soon. He's probably not "developing" as much as you would like to think! I'm done with this stupid argument.
  14. 1. Still Injured? Check 2. Still throwing off back foot? Check 3. Still Stares down receivers? Check 4. Still Has no progression ability? Check 5. Still has Accuracy issues? Check 6. Still No Pocket presence? Check 7. Still Has no drop back routine? Check 8. Still has Issues getting rid of ball (Instead scampers around trying to run when he has no clue where defenders are, getting thrown to the ground in the process)? Check 9. Still Low Football IQ? Check 10. Still Has trouble breaking down coverages? Check 11. Game management issues. (Here is one thing he's a little better at.) 12. etc... 13. "Will start barring injury throughout 2011?" che.... um maybe not.
  15. I realize the game isn't out for a couple months but my friends and I are putting together a group for an online dynasty in NCAA Football 2012. We have 6 slots open. Dynasty Info We are still not sure how long the dynasty will last, we will poll everyone for that a week or two after the game comes out. It will be multiple years. Rules 12 Total players 1 Star Teams (C- or below rating) All in same conference (Most likely BIG10) Heisman Level PS3 Gentleman's Rules We will advance 5 days per week... Unless you absolutely can't. (Weekends Off) 100% Payout Buy In & Prizes To enter the dynasty you will need to buy in ($50). The top 3 players with the best overall records after the dynasty is over, will receive winnings. If you are interested in joining our dynasty and for any other questions or concerns, message me on here or reply to this post. Thanks!
  16. With all the rule changes favoring the passing game... it's no wonder more teams have been evolving. Everyone wants to spread the defense out and attack the sidelines. (Spread Offenses) I see the NCAA becoming more like the NFL because of these changes and over the years I think we'll see more and more of the traditional (Good Passing) QB's but with athleticism start to form. Gone are the days where a (Bad passing) athlete can be a QB, because of the evolving defenses we see now that style hardly ever works anymore. Rule changes have more effect on the game than you think they do thats for sure. And who knows if they actually help prevent injuries. Because no matter what defenses are what they are. 'Defenses'. They are suppose to be aggressive.
  17. Let's Go Tomlin! Make it 4-0!

  18. I would pay money to hear what Gruden has to say about Martinez.
  19. I agree with all of that in general, but I don't agree that Taylor is "developing" still. In fact with all of this "new offense" work he's been focusing on lately, he still hasn't seemed to fix his fundamentals. The little I did see of him last Saturday might not have been enough to draw this conclusion yet, but for what it's worth heres what I have come up with. 1. Still Injured. 2. Still throwing off back foot. 3. Still Stares down receivers. 4. Still Has no progression ability. 5. Still has Accuracy issues. 6. Still No Pocket presence. 7. Still Has no drop back routine. (He ran the 2 step drop in High School) 8. Still has Issues getting rid of ball. (Instead scampers around trying to run when he has no clue where defenders are, getting thrown to the ground in the process.) 9. Game management issues. (Here is one thing he's a little better at.) 10. Low Football IQ 11. etc... While you can argue that he hasn't had enough time to work on this stuff yet, I think he should at least have some of this stuff down by now. But until I see it for myself, I will stand by this. I would agree that fumbling is probably the least worrisome of all of his problems, but with as many as there are... why is this guy starting??
  20. Well since the patriots have 3,875 draft picks, I can see them drafting a couple of our guys. Although I wouldn't mind seeing them all go to Detroit!
  21. I watched this and Carl said the reason he signed to Nebraska was because everyone else was going to Oklahoma and Texas and he wanted to do something different, haha. Not because of our rich history or tradition or anything of that nature. But then of course he chose money over an education. Kinda makes me wonder how many young recruits actually take the time to look into our program's history. It seems like location and who's hot at the time are the determining factors nowadays.
  22. That picture is taken out of context. Taylor was basically blindsided on the play because no one bothered to pick up the blitz. You can hardly expect a guy to tuck the ball when he's looking down field to make a play and someone is coming free off the edge behind him that he expecting to get blocked. It's not like it's the first time he's palmed the ball instead of tucking it when going down... Exactly. Once contact has been made, you tuck the ball away and make sure its secure. Regardless of the context, he failed to do so. OK, I'm going to put you into a live game situation and call a corner blitz on your blind-side, a blitz you have no idea is coming. When you get hit, you have less than 1.5 seconds to tuck the ball before you hit the ground. Seriously, what quarterback ever reacts fast enough to tuck the ball after they've been hit on a blind side blitz that they didn't see coming? Not many I can think of... Like I said, It's not like it's the first time he's palmed the ball instead of tucking it when going down... "...corner blitz on your-blind side, a blitz you have no idea is coming." - A good QB would at least have an idea that it was coming, and maybe use his peripheral vision, but being that Taylor can't even get through 2 progressions on a play would kind of limit what else he can do. The fact that he has trouble with this ON TOP of ball security is painful to watch.
