  1. I like Freedom too. I just hope the coaches don't bulk him up to 290
  2. I said all summer that the d-line would miss Gregory. People then responded that he only played hard in 3 games and the D would be ok. Yes, Gregory missed a few games due to injury, but when he played he was still a stud out there. Even if the "wasn't trying", he still demanded double and triple teams which, freed up the rest of the d-line to make plays. NU is seeing what it's like to not play with a future NFLer at DE.
  3. But it was a blowout for the first 49 minutes of the game. Miami stopped playing.
  4. I don't mind the pass play. Tommy was hot and the WRs were getting open.
  5. This team is staring 6-6 in the face.
  6. But I thought people said Gregory took too many plays off and that he wouldn't be that missed this year. I hate "people".
  7. Yeah, no matter his deficiencies, Bo could coach secondary very well.
  8. He seriously has to be the most overrated Husker ever. Glad I'm not the only one noticing. I thought I was losing my mind. But I thought NU wasn't going to miss Gregory this year?No you didn't. Nobody's that dumb.I saw that post numerous times this summer.
  9. Nebraska is not a very talented squad, you are fooling yourselves if you think they are. But, the coaching staff seemed totally unprepared for this game. I thought we weren't going to see blowouts under Riley?
  10. He seriously has to be the most overrated Husker ever. Glad I'm not the only one noticing. I thought I was losing my mind. But I thought NU wasn't going to miss Gregory this year?
  11. This game reminds me of a lot of Callahan offenses against any team with a pulse. The offense requires so much precision and talent, it's hard to be successful.
  12. Are people still not worried about the lack of big plays for the offense? I know the defense sucked today, but it is a huge effort for the team to score points.
  13. But I thought everyone wanted a ball control offense and wasn't concerned about the lack of big plays?
  14. We actually did better in all whites than in our traditional road uniforms last season. Melvin Gordon disagrees.
  15. I like the look of the all whites, but NU doesn't usually play well in them. But, we will look fast!!!
  16. bruh Totes McGotes!!! I have no musical talent, other than being an annoying opera singer to my kids. But I still don't like that song.
  17. So, Bo never won anything that "mattered", but Callahan had 2 losing seasons and also never won any game that "mattered". I wanted Bo gone after last season, but let's not act like he was the worst coach in NU history. Yeah, he could be an ass at times, but there were some very good times that I remember during the Bo years.
  18. I would agree 100% with that. Also, I don't get why people think TO ran so much option. The TO I remember was mainly power running with a lot of traps, counters, and then options and play-action passes sprinkled in. I think people think that TO ran a lot of option because those option plays resulted in a lot of big plays for the Huskers. Osborne said mainly times that he would treat option plays as "passes" in his offense as a way to get big chunks of yardage.
  19. I get the feeling that when it is all said and done we will have some NU fans trying to tell us that Bo really never even won a single game in 7 years. Don't you know that Bo didn't win any games and he killed puppies and kittens on the sideline.
  20. You know what's like eating comfort food? Winning. Winning was our identity. Whether it was the wishbone under Devaney/the early Osborne years, or the option, winning was our identity. I don't think anybody would be saying stuff like this if we were hanging up conference title banners on campus. Winning was part of our identity, that is correct. So was playing smash mouth football. Correct me if I am wrong, (because I wasn't alive then), but weren't TO's championship offenses of the early 1970's pretty pass-heavy? (as O-coord) Osborne's offense for most of the 70's was very pass-heavy/pro-style. It wasn't until the early 80s when TO decided to go more power-run game with a mobile QB. Turner Gill was the key recruit for Osborne in that era, especially considering that Switzer coveted Gill so much.
  21. Looking back at the Callahan era, it was not good. Frankly, his teams pretty much sucked, except for a decent year in 2006 when NU won the Big 12 North. I can't believe that people are looking back at his teams with more admiration that the Bo era. Callahan was decent at bringing in talent, but he had no idea what to do with them once they got to NU.
  22. Meh. I commend you in your ability to play music, but that song is not my cup of tea, even if it's about the Cornhuskers.
  23. Kordell was a stud against everyone else in college, then put him up against the Blackshirts, he would play absolutely terrible. I never understood why the Steelers thought he could be anything but a "slash" QB in the NFL. I still can't believe they thought he could be a #1 QB.
  24. It's funny how when he first became our starter, he was often classified as a non homerun threat... I don't remember that, but KB did break off some big plays right away. He had an 80 yard run on an end around against Minnesota. KB produced a lot of big plays at NU.
