  1. This thread, and the entire football forum, is a trainwreck... and I can't look away
  2. I'm torn on Farmer's weight loss... If he were to try to gain the weight back before fall camp, I fear that it's going to result in him coming in out of shape. I guess it may result in him being in the best shape of his life if he were to only gain some of it back.. I suppose it depends on where the coaches want him it. He looks really small (for an o-lineman) He was at 330 lbs, doesn't need to gain weight back. That was a lot of bad weight. Got it. I was unaware that he had gotten that big.

  4. Thanks for bringing that up... I knew you would. NO person no matter how great is great at everything. TO... one of the greatest football coaches of all time... has been a disaster at hiring coaches and for our recruiting. The disaster and downfall of our great program and the hubris at the top of our program... started the day his hand picked successor was announced. Frank Solich's last two recruiting classes were ranked 40th in 2002... and 42nd in 2003. Here's how the recruiting for Nebraska in the big 12 looked in those two years with Frank Solich as head coach: 2002: 1: Texas 2: Oklahoma 3: Colorado 4: Kansas State 5: Texas A&M 6: Oklahoma State 7: Missouri 8: Iowa State 9: Nebraska 2003: 1: Oklahoma 2: Texas A&M 3: Oklahoma State 4: Texas 5: Colorado 6: Missouri 7: Kansas 8: Nebraska Solich was a disaster for Nebraska recruiting and started the long spiral downward to where we are at now. Solich's inability to recruit was alarming to many in those days, including me. Nebraska's willingness to allow Oklahoma and Texas to out recruit us was a disaster for our program. A disaster we have never recovered from. Texas won the national championship in 2005 based on their great recruiting in the previous 4 years. And the same great coach... Tom Osborne... also hand picked another coach for Nebraska... you may remember his name... Bo Pelini ring a bell ? You know... the guy who sabotaged our football program. I'll have more on him later.
  5. Honestly, I would expect a lot of friends to say that about another recruit even if he really is favoring someone. Dismuke thinks KJJ will be N....
  6. I think in reality, Ed was interested in being employed. Now that he is, I doubt he'd answer the phone. Besides, HCMR didn't even make that call when Ed was more or less begging for work, so I wouldn't expect him to do so now.
  7. Angus McClure and Chris Kiffin come with the added benefit of being recruiting coordinators for UCLA and Ole Miss, respectively. Should help with any recruits we're going head-to-head with those schools for. For the life of me, I can't remember who serves in that capacity now for Nebraska.... Can someone help me out?
  8. ive got no problem with Bo keeping Bando on the team for snagging bikes, I mean if the almighty DR Tom can play some of the guys he did after what they pulled this is no biggie. I have no problem with it either. Just wonder why Banderas is going to go on the whining offensive now. What I do know is that the whole"I leaned more as a JR than in my first two seasons" argument is specious. Because most kids make their big jump around that time. That's when 85% finally figure out how to take coaching at the college level (and the kids in front of them have graduated).

  10. Watched this guy in the state championship last year. Great player, not at all deserving of a D1 scholarship (at least not B1G D1). I agree. Fun to watch but not a scholarship. Could walk on but I would think he'd go to a smaller school and get a scholarship. Hope he gets an offer at a decent school and gets a free education. Life isn't easy on the reservation, so a chance to get out would be pretty cool for the guy. #SDSU
  11. One of the top classes in the past 15 years. Your standards are questionable.....But what's new 2017 is a solid class, enough to win the B1G West. However, I see three problems with this class. (1) They missed late on 4-5 big prospects that they could not close earlier. This prevented them from going to their plan B guys, besides Engelhaupt. (2) In-state recruiting was very poor this year. Missed on Bubak and Fant. Never offered Manchigiah. (3) DL recruitment was garbage. We did get two DE which is good, but we needed some top-end pass rushers and reload on DT. However, we were never really in with anyone period (let alone elite talent). I definitely like the class. The secondary in particular will be a strength going forward, for sure. OL is another area of strength in this class, and they got their QB and RB. 2016
  12. I have a family member who works at Country Day and he said he was surprised to find out that Nebraska offered, as he has played sparingly between LB and TE this past season. Nothing to do with Kolin's ability as he plays for a powerhouse in Country Day, which produces D1 talent on a regular basis. He said he's a freak athletically and thinks that the offer was based on that and his bloodlines. He thinks that he'll likely go to Michigan if/when they offer but it obviously doesn't hurt being his first offer. I was reading through his brother's thread and sounded as if Nebraska was co-leader with Michigan before committing to Michigan. It sounded as if that location played a factor, so hopefully that will not be an issue this go around. I'll tell my family member to sport some Nebraska gear when appropriate.
  13. Sure. Bank on it!! Wow. Not usually that optimistic. Feels okay. You better be right or I am coming back to this thread in January 2017 to bitch and moan if we aren't top 15. You gonna predict a class closer to 40 too?
  14. Bleacher Report is getting out of hand with their commitment videos. +1
  15. You see Colorado doing that to potentially their highest rated 'croot? Doubtful
