  1. I know im in the minority here, but Musberger is my favorite play-by-play guy. Always have liked his style.
  2. I think some fans are making Wisconsin in to a much better team then they are.... They are a good team, but some posters are saying it would be a "huge" upset if we win. Really? I am nowhere nearly as impressed with them as that. I lik e Taylor nd Yoshi's
  3. Groundbreaking, as always. Good work Knapp!
  4. We played off the ball with Dennard, and Prince as well. Maybe not as often but we did do it often enough from what I remember. Usually on 3rd and short there is going to be inside help for the slant patterns. I'm not expert, just my read.
  5. I would assume that Bo, and Carl know what they are doing. The busts we see are most likely not faults of the scheme, but faults of the execution. There were a handful of times in the Wyoming game when you saw two guys go with one receiver. One time in particular I remember, right after the catch Dennard went to Stafford, and seemed to be telling him that he went the wrong way.
  6. I don't think there is going to be much that "we haven't seen yet" come Saturday, because of the reasons you mentioned. If we haven't had a chance to work on the stuff, especially on offense, then a night game at Camp Randall would not be the place to break it out. My gameplan would be: On offense: Give Rex Burkhead the ball atleast 30 times (atleast 10 RexCat plays). This team is obviously capable, and fond of running downhill. I don't think the success of those toss sweep plays is a coincidence. I think we are going to be an excellent running team as the year goes on. On defense: Get After Em'. Wisconsin's offense is a very effective one, but they have not seen nowhere near the speed we have on defense this year, or last year for that matter. We need to use our speed to get to Wilson, and make them run the ball. So what if they run for 200 yards, if they pass for 100, then we win this game!
  7. Didnt Wisconsin lose to a MWC team last year? Yep, they did (TCU).
  8. Ok this is getting boring. EVERYONE, I am currently going to start a new "Martinez sucks, give me Choi at Quarterback" thread. So if you will, back to the homepage. BYAHHHH!!!!
  9. Paul Meyers? Bingo!! I believe that was it.
  10. Sure, sure....Relax, relax. They are kids, let them express themselves, and have some fun if they want too. They don't have to be "Husker Football 100% of the time", Like the rest of US!!!!
  11. Wasn't there an article in the OWH awhile back talking of a guy who was being primed for the AD job. Osborne loved him, and everyone that came into contact with him loved him (thats what she said). I can't remember the guys name though.
  12. That Andrew Green has been impressive. No but seriously Legate has impressed me, block, run and pass.
  13. Just do not touch the helmets.... Wouldnt it be stupid to half ass it if we did get new uniforms? I mean you do it to draw recruits, and attention, and there is nothing attention grabbing about those black uniforms, or helmet. I hope they do not do it, but if they do then you might as well go all out....
  14. If our 2010 Defense is as bad as it gets, we'll be in great shape.
  15. Bo isn't worried because he has complete faith in his guys, and his ability to coach them. Even if he was worried, he wouldn't express that with the media or us, because he doesn't care what we know. Give me ONE reason that Bo has given us in his four years here that should make any of us concerned about his Defenses. You can't say anything about the first half of his first year, because he was attempting to fix a disaster. Bo Knows Defense ( I feel like I should coin that phrase, it could be big). We will be fine!
  16. I thought the Defensive line played well. The run game for UScrub was shut down from about the middle 2nd quarter and on (besides that longer run by Polk in the late 4th quarter, Chase Rome was in at that point). The secondary is young, but there is definitely a problem there. I do agree though, that they will come on in time. Having Dennard back will help greatly. I thought the D-Line played best with Josh Williams, Crick, T-Mo, and Meredith out there.
  17. I have a feeling that most of HuskerNation is going to be in panic mode after this game, but I do not see the reason. The Defense definitely has work to do, but I think we'll be good. Reasons for no-concern: 1. We currently have the best cornerback in the country sitting on the sidelines. Getting Dennard back will be huge because he will shut half of the field down. Therefore Pelini will be able to have more Safety help on the run game. 2. Bo is a master when it comes to coaching a defense, its almost poetic. Think back to the Defense Bo's first year. The progression from the beginning of the year to the end was a miracle. Give him time and the secondary will be just fine. 3. The Secondary has some very talented players. Stafford will really come on in the next couple weeks. Remember Gomes took until the Missouri game (week 4 or 5?) in 2009 until he was really stepping onto the scene as an effective player. That same year he was a absolute force in the Big 12 Championship game against Texas. In a couple weeks our Secondary ought to look a heck of a lot better. ( Where is C. Osborne anyways?) 4. Most of UScrubs points were in junk time. they had 17 points through 3 quarters, and 7 of those points were practically given to them after the Abdullah fumble. I don't like 'what ifs' but the 38 points was a bit obscured. That game was over at 44-17. Speaking of 'what ifs' UScrub fans need to let it go. The refs mistakes did not cost you that game. Nebraska BEAT you, and was nice enough to let you back in it at the end. Get over move on, you're NOT in our league. Besides you won't find much sympathy from Nebraska fans about bad calls costing games.
  18. The local media's doubting of our defensive success the rest of the season is what has me confused. The Blackshirts are going to do what they do, the offense is improving. Wisconsin's defense will give us some things. It ought to be a very entertaining game at Camp Randall in a few weeks. It is hard to base the season off of a few games. If we went off of the S. Dakota St. game last year, then there would be no way to see a team that eventually won the North, and SHOULD have beaten OU in the Big12-3 title game. Are we going to win a National Championship? Probably not. Can we win a B1G championship? Yes.
  19. Wisconsin looks good, but going unbeaten is going to be tough in the B1G. They should definitely be the favorites to win the conference, but I am looking forward to the Huskers going into Wisconsin. It will be a good test, and despite the meltdown on HuskerBoard, Nebraska can win that game.
  20. Has anyone else noticed how quick the local papers (OWH, LJS)are to knock down the Huskers after last night. There was talk of Nebraska possibly not being a top 25 team? That is getting carried away with the criticism. I was surprised that they were so critical of the defense, and of the defensive outlook for the rest of the year. Every team has a bad game, the Defense will be fine, or am I the only guy that has been watching this Pelini coached Defense the last 3+ years. The offense still looked rough, but there was definitely improvement. It is humorous that Martinez gets all of the critique he does, yes he made some mistakes last night, but 219 passing yards, and 166 rushing yards? Those are elite numbers. However, it is very clear that the favorite to win the BigTen resides in Madison, Wisconsin; not Lincoln, Nebraska.
  21. Quincy Enunwa is our best option at WR, hands down. He seems like he could be a bit of a budding star. Turner, and Bell definitely should see the field over Marlowe(never understand why he was a kick returner either), however I will still hold judgement on Kinnie. He was a solid option last year for us, but no doubt he needs to pick it up. **Don't know how I got that reply in the middle of the last post**
  22. I also remember reading that Kinnie sprained his thumb. Why the heck is he out there if it is still affecting him? That's like having a kicker with a sprained toe on his kicking foot still being the starting kicker, or a QB with a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder playing. It's plain stupid. Get Marlowe out of there. He's been overtaken by at least 3 guys. But at least he catches the ball (*ahem* Kinnie). If Turner isn't starting the next game then you have to wonder what game the coaches are watching. I totally agree with your WR assessment. Our top 3 WR in no particular order: Quincy (big body, possession type guy), Jamal (shifty speedster), Kenny (speedster). Get our weapons on the field and then get them the ball. I'm irked that we burned Green and Heards' redshirts last week and they didn't even get on the field, let alone touch the ball in that game.
  23. Yeah he's a charmer... What was wrong with the interview? I thought it was pretty darn good. Sure he's not real smooth, but he gave good info and sounded pleasant, what more do you want? I was just poking fun although it does look like he wants to bite the head off of a greg sharpe on the bo pelini show
