  1. We might get a nice look at our 2nd and 3rd team offenses if the Oline owns like that all night.
  2. Next game will tell us as much about this team as this week. We've had games where it feels like finally it's happening, then come out an lay an egg against a subpar team. THIS is that same scenario, we have a huge game in two weeks, and a precevied bye week team this week. Does this team overlook them or do they show up and play like they did last night? We play like we did last night, and MSU/Wisc games will be fun to watch, and the rest should be wins. #GBR
  3. -That we need to ride ameer as far as he will take us. -The talk of simplifying the offense and perfecting certain plays during fall camp wasn't just hype -if we control the line of scrimmage on the offensive side like we did today, we can play with anyone left on the schedule -The D stepped up and caused turnovers when we needed them -Gregory is a hell of a football player and will be in the nfl this time next year -Kevin Maurice might deserve more reps - Only real concern is the freshman QB and 70th ranked offense in the country moved the ball with more ease than I had thought or would like to see.
  4. There appears to be some strange contrast with the lighting, white paint, and the position of his hands. I don't think that's a can, though.
  5. It's not a matter of it being "too early" for the discussion, it's been an unending one for about three years now. And it's not going away until crap like Saturday stops happening and new hardware is in the trophy case, or we are starting over with a new HC.I Trust me friend, I'm aware it's been an on going conversation; you can't read Husker Board and not know this. My point was that this conversation is trivial at this point. The race is on and there is no sense arguing over potentially switching jockeys following the conclusion of said race. Especially when the results are far from a forgone conclusion. My pitchfork is plenty sharp and rests in a glass case next to my TV. There were times last year I was ready to break into it and demand a complete overhaul. That overhaul never came, so in the meantime, I'm going to sit back and hope something clicks with the staff and we win out. Objectively, I don't think that's going to be the outcome of the season, but I don't think hashing a debate, one which will be hashed at nauseam in two short months will solve anything. I know it will most certainly detract of my enjoyment of the race. Then again, I am a degenerate gambler, so false hope and cheering for a loser comes naturally.
  6. While I agree with largely everything you stated in the original post, I think it's too early to have this discussion. After last week I was tempering expectations from all the kool-aid drinkers around me that is was one game. I'm going to advocate that same position here; however with one caveat, this falls in the same pattern we've seen under Bo Pelini: extreme highs followed by flat play/epic lows. We are two games into a season, so this could be the writing on the wall game or the scare we need to take the weaker Big 10 by storm. There is enough talent on the roster to compete with anyone on the schedule. Conversely, there's enough historical inconsistencies that it's easy to feel like we are looking down the barrel of a painful season. So before we go full retard on the defend Bo or Fire Bo soap boxes, I'd advocate the wait and see approach. I mean, as painful/upset I was the majority of yesterday. Ameer's TD at the end gave me reason to scream in excitement and jump out of my seat like a crazy person. That's far more enjoyable than speculating the potential demise of the season and a list of potential replacements.
  7. Agreed! It will give my grand kids something to play with as I tell them how good we use to be when I was as young as they are.
  8. I can't get over that 4th and 5 call. We basically lined up in prevent defense, with EVERY DB lined up 8 yards deep.
  9. The biggest concern for me thus far is the lack of push from the O-line. Tommy is young, but still needs to make better choices with the ball.
  10. Running strong! He's young, mistakes will happen. Beck hasn't been doing him any favors, though.
  11. Even more reason to vote for Miami tonight.
  12. Florida Atlantic is breaking in two new offensive tackles, so DEs should feast.
  13. If Gregory has the year we are expecting, hopefully it will draw this young man's attention.
  14. Coach Pelini said freshman D.J. Foster is working out on the D-Line. But the long term plan is for him to still be on the O-Line. #Huskers
  15. Husker Sports ‏@HuskerSports 1m Pelini says that Aaron Curry isn't with the #Huskers anymore. Curry didn't like the fact that he was the 5th DT. #HuskerVoice
  16. Logan Rath had a sack in the Spring Game, so if he can just do that every game, we will be OK. Joking aside, he had press in the Spring of a strong camp and some tidbits this fall, so hopefully he is a servicable back up. On the recruiting front, does the loss of Curry make us maybe look for a Juco DT? With Valetine's prototypical size, a strong season could see him leave early.

  18. He committed in May, but has taken other visits since. You never know till you #YOLO, bruh.
  19. Is it a morning practice today? I need to know when I should start brewing my kool aid.
  20. Items I'm drinking kool aid on include: Defensive line: We have serious depth at DT and Gregory and Mcmullen represent the best 1&2 punch we've had on the field at DE under BO. We need to shore up the DE back ups, though. Running Backs: Ameer, enough said. Plus we have a bigger back in Cross, and a burner in Newby. If the oline is even just adequate, we should be able to rely on these guys through are younger Qb(s) maturation periods WR: Plenty of talent across the board to stretch the field in Bell/Moore/Turner/De'Mornay Pierson-El. Also solid possession/hands in guys like WesterKamp/Burtch/Allen. Giving the QB(s) and coaches a myriad of options.
  21. Did he early enroll in a Juco? Just trying to get my head around this 4 years to play 3.
