Does the Kenny Wilson run concern you??

Great run wasn't it?? But let's look at it from the other side of the coin. What if our rush defense is still bad?? Number 8 which I think is our starting free safety Shanle got used and abused in that run. Anybody worried about our Safety position and our run defense??

i am a helluva lot more worried about our DB's.......that is a much greater fear than our run defense!

I'm not at all. It was the end of practice. People were tired. He just wanted it more. Still though, that run was awesome!

Hell no. Not in the least. Sometimes the offense wins in practice, sometimes the defense wins. The most important part to remember is that it's practice and I know for a fact the defense was embarrased to see that play on film. It's good for the team

Seems like there was something about how the D shut down the run game all practice and that was the only big play they gave up all day.

There was another big run by Kenny though. It was like 60 yards or something like that. I saw that one too. He broke a tackle I think, then turned on the speed.

I haven't seen the 60-yarder. Does Wilson have the cutting ability to juke defenders? Anyone know? If he has good moves to go along with his power and speed, look out!

Matter of will's and in this instance Wilson willed his way through the entire Defense into the endzone....if anything you thing it would motivate the D to step it on the next snap.

I don't think that saying it was at the end of practice should be used as a crutch to not be worried about our run defense. When you are tired in the fourth quarter of a big game, you cannot have something like this happen. That is the time that you find out who wants it the most. Plays like that are not excusable, maybe a missed tackle or two would be, but that was just awful by our defense.

Two things: 1) yes, the run should be a concern, if for no other reason than pride should be a factor no matter when something happens in practice or if you've shut the offense down the whole practice. 2) Hunter, yes the DB's worry me. Shanle is a DB. And the safeties play an important part in run defense.

 

That being said, it certainly is not a panic issue (but hack's visual is SWEET). If anything, it probably reminded the defense of the mental effort it takes to be great. And it also says look out for Kenny Wilson.

If you are Nicholls State or La Tech, than maybe you should worry. We will have to wait and see. I am a Husker fan but i don't wear goggles like some people.
