New Husker Fan
How important is CG on third or fourth and short? To have the ability to sustain drives and control the clock could be very important next week at USC. Also the offensive line should get their props. They did a great job last week. huskeraddict
I think he's VERY important in short yardage. He can carry 3 or 4 defenders on his back for just 1 yard. He'll be very important against SC. Quote Link to comment
CENTEXHUSKER
IMO, I think all the RBs except maybe Lucky have the size and determination to get that extra yard. We seen Gleen do it last week, but I think Wilson and BJAX are also studs. Quote Link to comment
gamecocks
I am glad that Callahan used some of the other backs on short yardage situations today just to see what they can do. We all know what Glenn brings to the table. Quote Link to comment
ttheKid1*18
Glenn is great, but there was one fourth and 1 today where he didn't get a first. I was really surprised. He had the chance to run the guy over, but didn't. Still a good game though. Quote Link to comment
mpat887
i thoguht it looked like he slipped/tripped on that play because he went down too soon..that's what it looked like to me where i was at atleast Quote Link to comment
Hawkeyehusker
Glenn has been great over the last year on all those short yardage situations. But I'm wondering if he can catch the ball. Lucky has caught a number of passes and we need someone else to step up for those short passes. Cory was one of our leading receivers last season. On many WCO plays the RB is often the hot receiver. ttheKid1*18
Right now to me, it seems that they are only using Glenn on short yardage plays. I didn't see much of him other than that. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
We've seen Lucky in short yardage situations before where he's got it, and in short yardage situations where he's been stuffed. There have been a number of short yardage situations this last game where we didn't get the first down...inexplicable, in my opinion, except that the O-line, while improved, is not entirely dominant. I think we should be a little worried about how our O-line will fare against USC...if we can't pound it inside on 3rd-and-2 with efficiency, we'll have to go for speed runs outside or short passes, which are less preferable because they're more risky. Bottom line, we need Glenn to step it up and make those plays all the time. Quote Link to comment
Glass
Glenn is like the Bus Jerome Bettis and with more experience I think he'll become a touchdown machine in the Red Zone in the years ahead. Quote Link to comment
Spartness
I was at the game and was wondering why I didn't see Glenn in the game for quite a while and why I was seeing Lucky in short yardage situations. I was worried that Glenn was injured. Perhaps Cally felt good about Lucky's ability to run inside and wanted to get him some reps. Quote Link to comment

Automatic against La Tech and Nicholls who? He's not gonna be able to run over the likes of USC. Quote Link to comment
StillWatchin
I'd be willing you bet my house, car, and job on that Benard. A fourth and 1 that Glenn doesnt get, has more factors to it than, defense stopping him. It results from a busted play, or a "slip" or such. Glenn is the kind of guy that thrives on the "okay, they are here to stop me....watch this". He will do to USC, what he does to La. Tech...and Nicholls state...and how he will do to everyone else NU plays. Quote Link to comment
