nebraska_fan07
You know... I Love it how Lou Holtz always picks the teams he coached for... like everytime ND has a big game, he's obviously going to pick them. One stat they said a couple of weeks ago, was that he was 0-4 picking his beloved Gamecocks. In which he coached for, and the only times they picked the SC Gamecocks games. Quote Link to comment
cmb23
Didn't they actually start by showing the Offense's growth in the 3 years of the WCO? Didn't they talk about what an underrated QB Taylor was? Didn't they say we were a program back on the rise? Just checking....yes they picked OU to win, but they didn't say we didn't deserve to be on the same field as OU or anything like that. Quote Link to comment
pigsonthewing
anybody else notice on ESPiN, every time they show a USC highlight, its one from the USC/Nebraska game? or is it just my overactive imagination? paranoia will destroy ya. Quote Link to comment
BleedHuskerRed
Lou Holtz was a muppet, literally. The actual Lou Holtz died in 1989 and was replaced by a creation from the Jim Henson studio. The plush, orange, googly-eyed muppet filled the coach’s former role: bouncing up and down the ND sideline, flailing his arms a bit, and occasionally explaining the difference between near and far. He would later do the same at South Carolina. If you look closely at old game films, when an opposing team’s back is streaking down the field, past the ND bench, you can occasionally see the rods they used to move Muppet Lou’s arms, or one of the black-clad puppet wranglers positioning his arm up Lou’s ass (as part of their exclusive television deal, NBC never showed close-ups of the muppet, and would seamlessly add older footage of the coach when one was needed). After his “retirement” (one of his eyes fell off during an S.C. - Kentucky game, luckily no one was watching) ESPN bought the rights to Muppet Lou, and in conjunction with Industrial Light and Magic created an eerie, alomst human looking CGI Holtz model, Lou 2.0. The creation is voiced by veteran character actor Hank Azaria, who while a talented perfomer will be the first to admit doesn’t know sh#t about football. Quote Link to comment

strigori
We can at least take heart in the fact that he has been wrong in his pick for nearly every big game this season. Quote Link to comment
strigori
He is even dumber than I thought. His pick for the Big 12 player of the year, Paul Thompson. Both the coachs and the AP only had him on the 'honorable mention' at QB. What a tool. Quote Link to comment

huskerinkc
So, its half time for the Ohio vs Cent Michigan game and they preview the NU vs OU game.....if you can call it a preview. The only mention Nebraska got was to mention they are playing OU and will lose to Oklahoma. The entire time was spent showing Okalahoma highlights and slobbing OU's knob. According to the the wisdom of Lou Holtz, we will lose because of OU's great O line and superior QB who has only thrown 7 interceptions all year. No offense to those who are mentally handicaped but what a retard Holtz is. Whats Zac had, 4 INT's? I have a good feeling we will win this one and can only imagine the media with there "I knew it all the time" crap we will hear after the fact. GBR!!! Did you folks hear Herbstreit's "upset alert"? He picked the Huskerz over OU. He's almost always has shown us some love. See some of you at the game tomorrow. GO BIG RED!! Quote Link to comment
