NoLongerN Posted February 2, 2006 Share Posted February 2, 2006 Here's Sheepdogs Input as a Newbie! 1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation? 1964 - Saturday mornings as a lil' kid were great memories of playing backyard football with friends. 2) What/who led you to The Nation? The Spirit of God ... actually just family with "N" blood. 3) Where are you from originally? Omaha, went to Cody Elem and Milliard North. Lived on Valley St from 64-76. 4) Where do you live now? Live in Lubbock, TX ... it really sucks here! 5) Favorite Husker memory? Johhny the Jet's famous punt return, also the Frost TD at Mizzou that hit the foot and ended a TD and a National Title. I saw it live! 6) Worst Husker memory? No doubt, the loss to Miami in the Orange Bowl 31-30, especially knowing that the two point was there, Turner just threw it too hard and low, instead of out and up so only we would catch it. Also went to Husker/Sooner Orange Bowl in 79 (?), it sucked because we beat OU that year and had to play them again, think we lost 31-24, but they kicked out butts that second time. 7) Number of home games attended? I think just 3-4, a few were when I was really young. 8) Number of away games attended? 4-5, those all being at Mizzou when I lived at the Lake of the Ozarks. 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? Any tape of Lyle Bremser (spelling?) doing play by play. Listened to him growing up. We taped the game on the radio and listend to the tapes years later until they just wore out. 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) It's anywhere with my family, watched a bowl game at a Hooters once and my Mom couldn't figure out why I wasn't interested in the scenery. Go figure! 11) Favorite all time player? Roger Craig, Rogers, Mike Rozier, Irving Fryar, Tommie Frazier, can't choose one. 12) WCO or Option? Love the option. 13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? Urg 14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? Herbie Husker. 15) Favorite Husker play? When Turner Gill threw of to WR skipping the ball off the ground, then the WR threw a completion. My first Husker memory that year was when I was listening to Lyle Bremser getting excited about an IM Hipp run. 2) What/who led you to The Nation?Family and friends 3) Where are you from originally?Omaha, NE 4) Where do you live now?Omaha, NE 5) Favorite Husker memory?The 1995 team knocking the smug look from Spurrier's face. 6) Worst Husker memory?The 1993 team losing to Florida State. I was so sure they were going to win going in and to witness the criminal acts of the refs was appalling. 7) Number of home games attended?5 8) Number of away games attended?8 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel?One of my sisters had done a project for her photography class and did a collage of pictures she took at a couple games on a red background. She gave that to me for Christmas that year and I display it with pride. 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? They are all so cool I just can't pick one. 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) At Memorial Stadium and if not that than at Toties in Hartington. Toties is always filled with drunk husker fans on night games, its really fun. 11) Favorite all time player? Ahman Green 12) WCO or Option? I have to say option because the WCO hasn't been that high scoring yet. 13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? Don't really much for either but I am going to say Stevie. 14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? "Lil" Red is the bomb but still love ya herbie. 15) Favorite Husker play? Fake HB toss WR X pass (something like that). Or Oklahoma vs. Nebraska in 2001 when we iced the game when crouch caught the TD. 16) Favorite game-day beverage? Mountain Dew 17) How did you find HuskerBoard? From my friend. My dad was from Iowa and his family is all Hawks (football) and Cardinals (baseball) fans, so he followed the Huskers and the Royals to spite them. 3) Where are you from originally? Lincoln 4) Where do you live now? Omaha 5) Favorite Husker memory? It was senior day against Colorado in 2000. I was there with my bro Bakhal. We gave up a late touchdown to sCUm and most of the old people who called themselves fans were cursing and lining up to leave. At this point, the spirit of Husker Nation consumed me, and I started cursing the fair weather B@#$& who were leaving. I stood up on the bench and got into it with everything that I had. Then, we drove down and lined up for the field goal. As soon as Josh hit it, I knew it was good. I ran up to the top of north endzone and got tackled by some excited mo' fo's. I felt so proud to be a husker fan on that day! 6) Worst Husker memory? We were supposed to get rolled by Texas by Choirboy Simms and his band of fools in 2002. We looked like we had lost midway through the fourth. Bakhal and I were fully intent on riding it out, and we chose to go down underneath to watch the rest of the game. Then, we got a stop on D, and Groce brought the ball back to like the 11. We could have tied with a FG, but Solich called a square out and LeFlore ran the wrong route. Vasher picked the ball off literally right in front of me. I couldn't speak all the way home. At first I was angry at Jammal, then at Frank. Far removed, I now feel bad for Jammal, who played the game of his life that night. I respect Frank for going for the win. It still hurts, though, to have come all that way, that night, with that mediocre team, and still fall short. 7) Number of home games attended? 30 8) Number of away games attended? 3 (All at sCUm) 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? Still got a "1983 National Football Champions" T-Shirt that my dad brought home from Misty's. Not a fan so to speak, but totally respect the history and passion of NU fans. I watch them alot. 2) What/who led you to The Nation? I saw a link, and thought I would try it out. 3) Where are you from originally? Wichita, KS 4) Where do you live now? Olathe, KS 5) Favorite Husker memory? Beating Miami in the Orange Bowl for the National Championship. 6) Worst Husker memory? Watching the annual butt-whippings of my team every year, but those were awfully good Husker teams. And my school really struggled for many years. 7) Number of home games attended? Three, while I was in college. Came up to see those games. What an atmosphere to watch a college football game. 8) Number of away games attended? To many to count. Let's just say many. Vast majority of them at the college I attended. 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? None. 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) At the stadium. 11) Favorite all time player? Brooks Berringer. Knew his sister well, got to watch him alot.
