huskered17
Who ever the next coach is will find plenty of talent on his team. We may lose over half of this recruiting class, but I think what the next crop of high school seniors see in the Huskers, will open their eyes again. Just with the 3 Qb's we have, bunch of running backs, receivers aplenty. Good bunch of defensive players waiting their turn. Its not all gloom and doom people. This program could just bounce back quicker than we think. GBR!!! Quote Link to comment
Spiderman
It largely depends on what the new coach's schemes...but I agree...the talent is there--it just depends on if the new guy can use 'em or if he tries to bring in "his system". Quote Link to comment
BigRedfxtoy
We could but we really need some good depth on the D-line. I think these kids are very good but poorly coached. With some depth and development of the current D-lne, we could turn around very quickly. Quote Link to comment
melscott62
i still think the 1st few years will be a little rough. the big 12 north is not going to be a cake walk anymore. Quote Link to comment

Spiderman
Am I missing something? Simi Kuli runs a 5.0 40. Shouldn't he be a DT? Quote Link to comment
HuskerKing130
He runs a 4.7 40 Quote Link to comment
DCHusker
Am I missing something? Simi Kuli runs a 5.0 40. Shouldn't he be a DT? Umm...He actually runs a 4.7, not sure where you got 5.0. In any case "Burst around the edge" speed is way different from a straight 40yd sprint. A lot more to do with agility and footwork. Quote Link to comment
DaveH
The probability of having an outstanding year for a first year coach is very, very small. Quote Link to comment

Here: http://www.huskerboard.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16360 I'm sorry, but 5.0 is slow for an edge pass rusher. I'm sick of the cosgrove mentality of having 3 DT's and one speed guy on the "open end". Carriker, as good fo a DE as he was, should have been a DT in college. Quote Link to comment

Saban (coaching Bama now) and Weiss in his first year were very successful, right outta the chute. Quote Link to comment
