Finally some solid news

This all sounds great, however i have to be little skeptical. I can see Paul Johnson and Pelini coming but how does Watson fit into this. Johnson and Watson's offensive styles differ greatly. I guess what I am saying is mixing Watson's offense with Johnson's would be like oil and water, just dont see it happening. <_<

OK, like I said in the other thread, my family have been boosters for a long, long time. I have three uncles on my mom’s side of the family and three more on my dad’s side, plus my folks are boosters and I am a booster, too. So that’s where this info is coming from.

I’ve stayed away from asking them if they know anything because I didn’t want to flood the board with baseless rumors, but that seems to be the name of the game, so here’s what they know.

Mom’s middle brother says:

He lives in Lincoln, and he goes to dinner at Misty’s every Wednesday. Last night he ran into the brother of Tom Osborne’s secretary, who is also a big money donor. His first name is Jim or Jimmy, but I do not know his last name. Sorry about that.

Jim told my uncle that TO and Harvey Perlman did meet with Turner Gill in Atlanta, and met with Grobe that same day, plus they talked to Coach Pelini at Baton Rouge on the way. TO was also on the plane from Norfolk that had its flight data hidden, and that plane also went to Atlanta where they spoke to Brian Kelly. Apparently Kelly is the guy they want to hire, but they want to wait a few more days to announce it so it looks like they’re really covering their bases.

The scoop is that Gill wants to come back to Nebraska in the worst way, so he’s willing to take the OC job here to get his foot back in the door. He will take this job so he can be on hand if/when Kelly leaves, and he will be the next HC at that point, and most likely finish his career here at Nebraska. Pelini will NOT be hired in any capacity, he was just given an interview to please the donors and fans.

Jim said there will be a press conference Sunday, December 2nd to announce Brian Kelly as HC and Coach Gill as OC. No other current assistants are going to be kept at this point, but they will interview some of the offensive assistants before making a final decision.

talk about something way out of left field but somehow still seems credible. i could see it happening but it all goes against the info that Bo and Gill are the top two candidates.

Written well, anything can seem credible. It's all in how the news is presented. :thumbs

hat's off sir. i'm not gonna watch the news anymore. it's spin baby, spin.

So my family have been boosters for a long, long time.

Mom’s eldest brother says:

He lives in Omaha, and he goes to dinner at Johnny's Café every Wednesday. Last night he ran into the brother of Harvey Perlman’s secretary, who is also a big money donor. His first name is Al or Alvin, but I do not know his last name. Sorry about that.

Al told my uncle that Perlman and TO did meet with Pelini in Baton Rouge, and met with Grobe in Atlanta, plus they talked to Coach Gill sometime in the last few days, he thinks by phone. Perlman was also on the plane from Norfolk that had its flight data hidden, and that plane also went to Atlanta where they spoke to Paul Johnson. Apparently Johnson is the guy they want to hire, but they have to wait until after the Army/Navy game to announce it.

The scoop is that Pelini knows he’s going to be ousted from LSU because the fans are in uproar over the last several games, so he’s willing to take the DC job here to get out of that mess. Gill will NOT be hired in any capacity, just because he isn’t really ready yet. They want him to have more seasoning, I guess.

Expect a press conference Monday, December 3rd to announce Paul Johnson as HC, Pelini as DC, and Watson staying on as OC. No other current assistants will be kept.

So there you go.

HAHA this is hilarious...I just read this after the first one. Well done sir! After the first Brian Kelly/Turner Gill posting from brothers sisters nephew at Mistys, I actually left a message for my buddy whos a huge Husker fan as well. DAMN YOU! Funny stuff though kinda puts all these posts here in perspective. Funny that people reading this post, obviously didn't read the other one.

By the way.......MMMMMM Mistys I live in Omaha and have been known to drive to Lincoln just for prime rib. Second best thing in Lincoln next to Husker football.

Yes, I believed it all the way to the end, unlike your last rumor where I caught you on that slipup with the friend thing. :)

What? Where? First off, I'm such a jerk that I have no friends, so that's not true right there. :)

Think that what I implied. You came back with some excuse that your mom no longer needs to use dog biscuits to intice your dog to like you anymore as a turning point in your life. :thumbs

All in fun, but can't believe how many people took this thread as credible. Even after you basically admited that it was made up.
