HuskerKing130
IMO this is bullsh#t. I dont really care for either Coz or Elmo, but they are getting paid & I think its bullsh#t that they're not out recruiting for NU. There are other assistants who know that theres probably a pretty good chance they wont get hired again once the new coach is hired but they're still out recruiting for Nebraska. As long as these 2 are getting paid, they should be out recruiting for Nebraska. IMO this is bullsh#t Quote Link to comment
toothlessHusker
Somebody ought to fire these bastards! oh wait we already did that. Quote Link to comment
Husker Deb
I wouldn't want them talking to our recruits! Who knows what they'd tell them. Quote Link to comment
melscott62
crap!!! now Elmo cant tell recruits every freshman we play is another loss!!! Quote Link to comment
np_husker
I don't think any of the assistants should be recruiting and I really don't know why they would want to. How can they possibly sell NU to these kids, especially Coz? Quote Link to comment

I think they'd do more harm than good. Quote Link to comment
Touchdown Tommie
I am glad that :asshat Coz is not recruiting. What would he say to the recruits? "Come to Nebraska and play for me. I ruined the Blackshirts' tradition and was a huge part in having another horrible season under Coach Callahan, but please consider NU?" Quote Link to comment
papersun87
crap!!! now Elmo cant tell recruits every freshman we play is another loss!!! Exactly what I thought. And with Cos, I can just see this scenario playing out: Mother: "Hey, five-star linebacker! Coach Cosgrove from Nebraska is here to visit!" Kid: " " Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
no doubt, these two clowns had zero chance to come back. it would be embarrassing to have either one out there trying to recruit for us. thankfully, they are both gone. coz may catch back on in the NFL as an assistant, but i doubt Elmo ever gets a job anywhere. bennychico11
guys, it's not that they refuse to go recruiting...you're only allowed like 7 coaches to go out and recruit. They obviously just weren't chosen to do so. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Or they didn't want to. I believe all the assistants had their contracts terminated. Quote Link to comment

They obviously just weren't chosen to do so. Exactly. While this is only my second post, I'm utterly amazed about how people fly off the handle.....even when they make assumptions that are not correct. For example, this whole notion about "I don't want Nebraska to return to the triple option". Folks, if you think Nebraska ran the triple option under Tom Osborne, you really need to step back. The handoff to the fullback was predetermined by the play-call. The option was to pitch to the tailback or keep, but not to the fullback. It has been speculated that Osborne experimented a little bit with the triple option toward the end, but it was never, ever a focal point of the offense. The fullback ripping off huge gains up the middle was a predetermined play, as evidenced by the pulling guard smashing the penetrating defensive tackle. Quote Link to comment
huskersrule95
Or they didn't want to. I believe all the assistants had their contracts terminated. I don't think that is right. I am pretty sure that Osborne has only fired Callahan and it will be up to the new coach whether any of the assistants retain their jobs. They will stay on until then. Quote Link to comment
coop
I believe they said the assistant coaches would be paid through next year and that as long as they assisted with recruiting they could have the possibility of being retained should the new coach want them... We know that ain't gonna happen though! Quote Link to comment
