Big 12 vs. SEC

Recommended Posts

So which conference is better? There are some convincing arguments for both conferences.. Let's stack them up side by side. The best team in the Big 12 plays the best team in the SEC. Big 12 #2 vs. SEC #2. And so on.

(I will match by rankings in the AP poll)

#4 Oklahoma vs. #2 Georgia

#6 Missouri vs. #5 Florida

#10 Texas vs. #7 LSU

#12 Texas Tech vs. #9 Auburn

#14 Kansas vs. #13 Alabama

Nebraska vs. #25 South Carolina

Oklahoma State vs. Tennessee

Colorado vs. Kentucky

Iowa State vs. Arkansas

Kansas State vs. Vanderbilt

Texas A&M vs. Mississippi State

Baylor vs. Ole Miss

Which conference would win the majority of these games?

I don't see any easy victories by the Big 12, while the SEC has some gimmies. I think Florida, Alabama, and the bottom four win easily. To me, this is the easiest way to see that the Big 12 still hasn't caught up to the SEC. But it sure would be fun to watch.

Does anybody think the Big 12 could actually win this matchup?

I continue to believe that Georgia is overrated. I actually give OU the edge in that game, otherwise, the Big 12 is way behind the SEC.

To a point I agree...but the only gimmies are Alabama vs. Kansas and Ole Miss vs. Baylor.

That is what they said about Va Tech in the Orange Bowl. Oh, how did that end? They may beat us, but it would be no Gimmee....

That said, they are better, but not by as much as everyone says.

:yeah

because Clemson got their @ss's handed to them on a silver platter. You can't say the Virginia Tech game was an upset because ECU is a good team.

Hell yes thats what i've been saying georgia is overrated ,only reason ppl talk about em is becuzz of their tail back lmao then they play the same team as they spanked in their bowl game and ppls still think that their a good team ,their a good team thoe just not a top 5 team.Id have to say maybe a top 10 team but not a top 5 team

Big 12 WINS.

Nebraska

Colorado

Texas Tech

SEC WINS.

LSU

Mississippi St.

Ole Miss

All the other games are 50/50. Makes the big 12 better. Very interesting that 6 teams in the SEC rank in the top 25 and 5 teams rank for the Big 12. My guess is that by the end of the year the Big 12 will have 6 teams by the end of the year and SEC will have 5. Nebraska will be the addition. Subtract South Carolina. :bonez:restore

UGA loses in the regular season but wins for the National Title against OK

Bama better bring their A game because Mangino is quite possibly the best coach in the country.

Kansas State will finish bottom of the big 12 and would loose to Vanderbilt.

Other than those three...

:yeah

OU

Tough one, IDK about Florida yet this year. I say Mizzou although IDk after that illinois game. would be a good one

I'll take Texas, maybe McCoy will put it together again this year, I think they will be better again.

not sold on Tech yet, so Auburn

Bama they looked really good

NU I'm liking what i see and not that impressed with Spurrier's team

OSU could be that UCLA will magically be good this year, but I'm thinking Tennessee wasn't that good instead.

No more Woodson, but I'm not sold on Hawkins either, this one is a draw for me, I'll go with Kentucky

Petrino might have been a bad move, but Ark should have way more talent than ISU

KSUcks...its Vanderbilt...

Miss State is probly a bit better than Ark State, lol

Ole Miss its funny that its the 'wild rebel' offense now, but whatever its called Baylor won't stop it.

thats 6 B12 and 6 SEC IMHO, but really you would have to weight the top games more than the bottom games, too. Thing is the way teams match up is weird. Like, i might take Kansas against Auburn, but not against Alabama, and Mizzou might matchup better with LSU or Georgia or w/e
