This week I had the opportunity to go behind the scenes, and see what it's like to be a Husker!

The video features behind the scenes interviews with Wide Receiver Todd Peterson and Linebacker Cody Glenn. I have to say, these two Huskers are very down to earth and respectablel people off the field.

Some funny answers to the questions as well :)

Check it out, let me know what you think!

And for those of you that missed it:

P.S. Thanks to General Blackshirt and SouthBayHusker for sending me the mp3 file I used in the video

How do you get all these interviews? Just curious

If you want to know the whole story, then read on. It's a lengthy post though.

First visit my YouTube Page, and read the biography on the left.

Basically, I am a broadcasting major at the University of Nebraska. I got started down the "broadcasting" path last year, when I took 3rd place in the C-SPAN StudentCam National Television Competition. My documentary - Energy Crisis in America - aired on C-SPAN, and I was then interviewed by local television stations, newspapers, etc. for the award.

All of this led to me winning the Channel 6 Broadcasting Scholarship

The sports/entertainment directors at Channel 6 liked my video portfolio, so they offered me the opportunity to cover entertainment events & Husker sports for them. Every video that I have posted on this forum first aired on the Channel 6 networks. (You can see ALL of the videos that I have done for Channel 6 on my YouTube Page)

Don't get confused though - I am still in college, and I DONT get paid for any of this <_<

I am a full time student. I also work two part time jobs and produce a radio show (which I do get paid for). I do the Channel 6 television stuff when I do have free time.

So some of you are probably wondering...why do I do this? It's pretty simple actually - I love making entertaining videos and covering sports; specifically the Huskers! It's a great opportunity, and I really think I have found my calling. I want to do this for a career.

In the future I hope to end up working in the entertainment industry. I can see myself doing a variety of things: Anchor on SportsCenter, News Reporter for CNN, or Anchor of Good Morning America are all careers I am interested in :) Who knows where this road will take me, but I believe I am ready for it.

So yea, that's the story behind all of this. This summer I want to intern at ESPN (doing Sportscenter), and after I graduate I want to be a sports reporter, and go from there.

Any other questions, please just ask. Thanks for the feedback.

Oh, and as for these videos - Most of the footage comes from the Husker Press Conferences. Anyone cleared with media passes can go to the Press Conference (which is on Tuesdays). During this time coaches/players will come up to the Press Box on the 5th floor of Memorial Stadium. If you are quick and determined, you can usually snag a player or coach for a quick interview.

It's not easy, it takes a lot of patience (often waiting for hours or battling other reporters for the person's time).

Sometimes you do leave empty handed (no interviews). But you just have to keep at it and hope for the best.

For example - I actually had an interview with Zack Potter that I wanted to use for this video. Somehow though the file got corrupted <_< Just an example of the challenges you can face in working with video & technology.

I do work really hard on these videos though, and I hope they are entertaining & enjoyable for the audience, which includes you guys! So thanks for watching, I love hearing feedback, and I will keep making videos throughout the season. And usually, this forum is the first one to see it ;) So enjoy the VIP coverage haha

While wearing a HuskerBoard t-shirt, of course...
