I'm guessing it should have read "During the game, Ganz set the NU record for completions in a season". I don't think that 16 completions in a game is a season record. Yep...I'm sure of that one. HuskerTrucker
Ganz is Big 12 offensive player of the week By the Lincoln Journal Star Monday, Nov 17, 2008 - 12:22:04 pm CST Husker senior quarterback Joe Ganz had 270 passing yards and 95 rushing yards, showcasing what his feet can do with two fourth-quarter touchdown runs on zone-read plays. It was good enough to earn Ganz the tag of Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week. The award marked the second career such honor for Ganz. The Palos Heights, Ill., native also earned the award following last year’s Kansas State game, when Ganz set Nebraska records for passing yards (510), passing touchdowns (7) and total offense (528). The 95 rushing yards were a career high for Ganz and the most by a Husker quarterback since Jammal Lord’s 109-yard effort against Texas A&M in 2003. Ganz was one of five Huskers to rush for at least 45 yards in Saturday’s game as NU churned out its best rushing effort against a Big 12 foe in six seasons. The 610 total yards by NU was also a season high. Ganz’s award marks the fourth time this season a Husker has won Big 12 Player-of-the-Week honors. Ndamukong Suh received the defensive honor for his effort against Kansas, while Niles Paul (San Jose State) and Nate Swift (Virginia Tech) have earned special teams honors. Good Job Joe...the Man!!!
