I didn't reply BRI, but he is and was included in my prayers. It's a real shame that people have it out for the people who protect us. Thanks to you and all who put their lives on the line daily for the rest of us. Definition of unselfishness. Quote Link to comment

No biggie bro...just like when you're out cruising around and some see ya and nod/wave, and others just roll their eyes and keep going. Everyone here is pulling for him, along with the others at your station. Any updates yet? Quote Link to comment

He's actually in Omaha awaiting surgery. I don't know why they are waiting so long, a pelvic injury can start to heal fairly fast and then cause other problems. Quote Link to comment

It is aggravating when it comes to situations like that. My best guess would be that the doctors are waiting for other things to clear up before they start surgery. You mentioned his head was run over, and that would be a major reason to hold off on surgery until that issue is cleared up first. They start big and move to the other issues after that. Hang in there, keep the faith and remember we are here for you. Quote Link to comment

knapplc
BRI - just so you know, I didn't reply when I first looked but I did say a prayer for officer Lloyd. My mom works for my hometown PD, so I have every reason to be concerned for the safety of our police. Don't take the lack of replies as an indication that people don't care. Sometimes the gravity of these situations makes it difficult for people to know how to respond. Quote Link to comment
rawhide-jr
Sorry I didn't see the post, I don't usually check this forum anymore for the insane amount of cop and troop bashing a few people do on here... I wish him a speedy recovery, hopefully he'll be 10-8 before he knows it. I've lost a few close friends in the line of duty, and have nearly lost my own life several times. Incidents like that (murderous/assaultive suspects) are a daily occurrance in my beat alone, and fortunately I've only lost a fingertip, a lot of blood, and gained a few scars... What doesn't kill you will make you stronger. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Well he had surgery today and it went better than expected. Instead of taking 6 hours to fix things it only took an hour and a half. The break was alot cleaner than they orginally thought so they didn't have to put plates in there just screws to get things back together. He comes back to Des Moines on Friday and several agencies are going to give him a police escort back home. Quote Link to comment
