In the Deed the Glory
Our President is ......pushing a Socialist agenda. But the only reason half of America doesn't like him is because of his Race? got Rush? Seems the only reason half of America believes that is they don't form their own opinions after listening to or reading an unbiased report. Don't listen to Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, or Keith Olbermann. None of them say one thing without an agenda. Some don't know what the definition of Socialism is.... I do agree that race has something to do with what people think of the President, but not a large percentage of people base their opinions on that fact alone or at all. Has nothing to do with Rush. When the Federal Gov is buying chunks of private businesses (GM/Chrysler & Banks) That is socialism at its purest form. When someone has said they want a single gov run health care system, that is again Socialism. You are right, some don't know the Definition of socialism. So here it is off of webster, so you will know. Main Entry: so·cial·ism Pronunciation: \ˈsō-shə-ˌli-zəm\ Function: noun Date: 1837 1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods 2 a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state 3 : a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done None of those things are happening or have been advocated. By the way, Bush started this precedent of federal "bail outs" for the banks this go around. Is he a socialist? Also, the government doesn't have any control in the day to day decisions of the businesses that were bailed out which would be the administration part of your definition. YOU CAN'T HAVE SOCIALISM IF THE GOVERNMENT DOESN'T CONTROL DECISIONS AND PRODUCTION. It is right in your fancy little definition. Have you read the health care proposition by Obama? There is one state sponsored option and the rest are private party companies that are options. The only difference is no one can be denied because of a pre-existing conditions. That isn't socialism either. We require all vehicles to have seatbelts, airbags, and other safety equipment to protect people. Is that Socialism as well because the Federal government is "controlling" production? Quote Link to comment
irafreak
If we want to be accurate here it is not the president that gives bailouts. He simply signs off on it. Can't do it alone. So the only consistency here is a democrat controlled house and senate over the last two bailouts. Hmmmm Quote Link to comment
junior4949
Is this a thread about my next head coach? i for one think it would be great if Gill became the next CU coach and it actually makes some sense. he has spent almost his entire career (both playing and coaching) in the big 8/big 12 region, which would give him a leg up on recruiting. This thread seems to have been derailed, and I will take some/a lot of the credit for it. However, let's get back to the original topic. Why exactly do you think it would be great if Gill became the next CU coach? If he works out, his team could beat up on us every year. If he doesn't work out like many have before him, then it really tarnishes his legacy. I hope Gill all the success in the World, but I hope he doesn't find it in the Big 12 conference especially at one of our Northern rivals. Quote Link to comment
