Back in 1997 the eve before the "Blizzard of 1997" I remember leaving the bar and grill I was at with my brother, and seeing flurries, and saying. "I wonder if we're going to get anything out of this?" My brother said, "No, the ground isn't cold enough and it's not coming down hard enough". Sure enough much of Omaha wakes up with no power and I remember wondering what time it was as I was hearing CRACK!! SNAP!! WHAM!! BZZTTT!! I don't know how many powerlines were down as a result.
