sewardite4NU
Sorry if this has been answered already, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere (probably could do more looking, but too tired). Does anyone know what the dude from ISU (#2 i think) did to get kicked out of the game? No one around me at the stadium could figure out what happened. Again if this has been posted, sorry. He threw a punch that connected with a players helmet. A huge, huge no-no. Expect the Big 12 Commissioner to take action if ISU doesn't penalize the player to their liking. Quote Link to comment

I am I
it was on a turnover--of course--Mendoza was running to the play and BLASTED him--he got up and (kind of) punched Mendoza in the head----BAM 15 yds and ejection...exactly what it warranted and helped us, oh wait... Quote Link to comment
sewardite4NU
Ah I see. Can't believe no one around me saw that. Thanks for the answer. I just thought I saw a few of the coaches on ISU's sideline high-five the guy like he didn't do much wrong. I'm guessing I saw a different guy now. Quote Link to comment
I am I
it wasn't a huge smack or anything but after Mendoza leveled him he got up and smacked Marcus in the facemask...Mendoza just kind of looked at him patted him on the rear and jogged off...didn't retaliate or anything, good job just playing hard Quote Link to comment
TheCheshireCat
Kind of a bullsh#t disqualification he barely touched him... he got rocked and made a stupid play, worth a personal foul, but that was pretty ridiculous. Quote Link to comment

Yet Weatherspoon sucker punched our guy in the kidney right in front of an official and only a 15-yard penalty? Quote Link to comment
Fuzzy
Yea i didn't understand this. The guys who did it was Jesse Smith, however he was the one who picked off the ball on the last play of game. Â I thought he was ejected? Quote Link to comment
Cy the Cyclone
It was James Smith and he'll be sitting out the first half of the A&M game next Saturday as per the NCAA rules...stupid NCAA... Quote Link to comment

I agree.  as I recall medoza got his fingers inside Smiths facemask as he pushed him down. musta pissed smith off and he swung at him.  IMO- definitely warranted the 15 yarder, but ejection?  nah. Quote Link to comment
cscott2win
In all honesty I also thought the hit by Mendosa may have been a tad late but you see that all the time. By Mendosa's reaction it was no big deal. Even though we Husker fans aren't used to it, other players are rougher on fellow teamates after scoring than what that was. I thought the ejection was a bit much also. Quote Link to comment
AF Husker Fan
he threw a punch! it woulda been dif if he got up and pushed mendoza but he threw a punch regardless of how weak the punch was still warrants an ejection Quote Link to comment
Landlord
AF Husker Fan is right, maybe the ejection doesn't fit exactly how HARD or FEROCIOUSLY he tried hitting him, but a punch is a punch, even if it was girly, and the rules say that is grounds for ejection. Quote Link to comment
