Ohio Pete
I live about 4 blocks from there. Basically, it is considered the center of town in Omaha. I've lived here for 12 years, and was there for our last national championship. It was absolutely crazy. Somehow, these guys had managed to scale the big crossroads sign and were standing on top of it shouting and working the crowd. You couldn't drive through there and police were on horseback just watching the whole thing. News media were on sight at every corner and it was a blast. I don't think we do this for a win against Texas though, it's just an Omaha thing for a national championship in my opinion. we were running down the middle of Dodge giving people in the parked cars high fives as traffic was stopped in all directions. Most towns have areas where this sort of thing happens. I think it was 16th street in Denver when the Broncos won the Super Bowl. Lots of pepper spray that night. Quote Link to comment
REDSTEEL
Here are ethe events that will take place if we win this Saturday. 1. I will remove my nebraska flag from its holder next to the garage and run through the strees of Richmond Hill Georgia in my underwear waving said husker flag franticly. 2. once I am arrested I will continue to celibrate in the rear of the police cruiser. inviting the officer to borrow my cornhead to join the celibration. 3. I will be taken to the nearest mental health facility due to the officer not knowing why the hell i have a flag with a big N on it and a huge corn on my head (SEC) country. 4. once released from police custody I will charge the psych staff doing my uncanty impression of SUE going for Colt for his 7th sack of the night. 5. if you do not hear from me again tell my family i love them and where i might be and GOD BLESS the NEBRASKA CORNHUSKERS. SUE? My guess will be that most Husker fans will deluge the internet so that I can't get on and complain. That and the drunk trolls trolling the Texas message board. Then the anger will set in that this same team lost to Iowa State at home. Quote Link to comment
Section26
You should try downtown Lincoln. Actual HOME of the Huskers. I was down there for the '97 title. It was ridonk parading with about 5,000 other people down to the stadium, breaking down the gate and rushing the field. Quote Link to comment
Never Skerd'
I agree, we need to move west. Better bars. Quote Link to comment
nemajordude
180th and Q is a much better spot. Hy-Vee? The salad bar will be closed that time of night. Quote Link to comment

cornhuskers4ever
I remember being there in front of Crossroads Mall after the Fiesta Bowl and overall the crowd was having fun, giving high fives.. Then this policeman on horseback is working his way through the crowd trying to maintain order and this guy literally punches the horse on the left butt cheek. The horse almost threw the rider and another cop comes over and arrested the guy cuffs and all for "assaulting a police officer". After the 1998 Orange Bowl, the crowd was yelling chants of F*ck Michigan, and some poor gal doing play by play of the crowd on top of the van would get swarmed and the fans kept rocking her van to the point she looked ready to fall off. She finally kept her light off. I think it was KMTV. I watched the tape later on and found out that she kept the lights off to keep the fans from rushing the van. I wish I was there for 1994 but I remember heading there and getting near Center Street, and they said that they police had started turning people away. Quote Link to comment
RedGixxer
Ok, here's the question I have to ask? Lets say Nebraska beats Texas for the Big XII Championship. Is this huge of a win against a BCS contender who was looking for a spot in the National Championship worthy of Cornhusker Fans heading to 72nd and Dodge? So where's the party after the Huskers get smashed by those Longhorns????? Quote Link to comment
DaveH
lol. I think this comes up before every big game. Quote Link to comment
