The Great Snow of Winter 09/10 Pics

Recommended Posts

Im straight south of Omaha on HWY 75, just a bit north of HWY 1 (O St). Have never seen so much snow out here on the farm. My aunts and uncles say its been 30-35 years since they can remember this much.

Drift behind my house...couldnt get high enough to show that in the background, it has actually swallowed my garage and drifted over the top of it.

Thank gawd for tractors...We had to put our three pt blade on our 9350 Case 4wd...it looked like overkill and a lil funny, but the drifts were too big out here for anything smaller.

Ok, I have officially had enough snow...... We have had 6 snow days off of school, right before Christmas, back in school for 2 days, then 3 more at home. I am actually read for WORK, plus I don't want to be in school when I could be fishin, golfin, and boatin in June..

I just "scooped my fn ROOF. I have lived in Iowa my whole life (40) and have never had too much snow accumulate on roof until now. I was standing in thigh deep ( I am 6'1) on parts of my roof, and most of the roof had at least 2.5 ft...... of course, I just cleaned off 2-3 feet from gutters, not whole roof.

Then, in HANC fashion, my fn ladder fell..... sat on roof for 10 minutes in a-hole deep snow with no way down. Finally got my daughter's attention by yelling though a vent on roof to come put up ladder. Felt dumb it took me 10 minutes to think of it. :)
