Does anyone still think the 2011 DL is better than the 2009 DL?

I'm sticking with my opinion that our DL is more hype than substance.

Crick needs to step up his game in a BIG way.

2 games in to the season and they are not even on the same planet. Maybe this dline will step its game up soon, but as of right now not even close. Crick had 3 tackles last night, I dont care if he is getting held if your an all-american you make plays. Stein was silent all night, and Cam was a ghost too.

Not at all, our D Line constantly gets hype over the depth, congrats, we have good depth, but they are a bunch of mediocre guys, baker will never be a breakout, he will be like a barry turner or pierre allen, inconsistent, he will have his big games and his unknown games, crick is over hyped, he gets double teamed and then he is usless, he cant escape double teams like suh can, camstach is good, he was quiet yesterday but i think he has a chance to make some noise, as for all the second stringers i think they all have close to the same talent but no one will emerge to make some noise.

This just shows you how much Suh meant to the defense. We might have more depth now, but when you don't have a guy like Suh constantly demanding double and triple teams, it doesn't make much of a difference

Crick will be a good fit at D End for a 3-4 NFL defense. I would almost like to see him play some end for us but I don't know who we would have fill in his spot at tackle. D-Line just needs to step up.

the D line and O line both look slow....being over 300 lbs. means nothing if you can't move, there is no quickness or first step, we look dead up front, just plain dead.

The O-line is over-hyped. This year's line does not even merit a comparison to 2009, which featured one of the most dominant athletes collegiate football had ever seen. That is not to say, however, that they won't end up being a decent front four (they should in my opinion).

The comparisons between Crick and Suh is not fair to Crick. Crick is more like JJ Watt out of Wisconsin last year then another version of Suh.

It's been a transition over the last two years. Unless, they aren't being completely honest with the media. Which is always a possibilty.

There was a multi-page thread with several posters saying exactly that. I thought it was absurd then and I think it is absurd now.

Not a chance. Which is disappointing considering how much hype they've received this offseason. I'm still waiting to see something resembling dominance.
