  1. GTFO if you don’t think Gundy is elite for what he’s done in Stillwater especially over the last decade. Literally he qualifies under your definition for point A. But you’re too busy with the big D(eion) to see reality.
  2. These ads provide such a great user experience. Love coming to browse ads. Then also having to re-scroll to where I was when an ad loads or changes.
  3. Minnesota crossovers: Mich St Mich Indiana Maryland Wisconsin crossovers: Indiana Maryland Michigan Rutgers Two easiest crossover schedules for the two teams picked as favorites to win the West.
  4. The five weeks before we play an Ohio State for them: Illinois Rutgers Purdue Indiana Bye The week before we play Michigan State: Bye
  5. How was the edit? Good enough for you? #FreeEzE #DontDoubtEzE
  6. The losses can't be the embarrassing kind. Embarrassing losses on National TV are hard to take but I haven't seen a truly embarrassing loss this season.
  7. No we can't because our offensive line isn't deep. They are playing absolutely terrible football right now. They have been dominated two weeks in a row, sure there were mistakes made but if you outweigh the man in front of you by 60 lbs and you can't drive him straight ahead on an iso play then you can't be a smash mouth team. I'm looking at you Yoshi Hardrick, Jeremiah Sirles, Jake Cotton, and Andrew Rodriguez. Man Rodriguez is severely overrated. We r relying on TMagic because he is our only viable option right now as our line is too weak and timid to push the dline off the ball. If we had Fresno States oline we would be better off. Maybe just their oline coach. Last Cotton (to my knowledge) is a high school senior this year so that means when can rid of Barney when? Would you agree that our lines are missing guys that look to kill the opponent lined up across from them every snap? I would love to see that mentality back even though it led to some unnecessary penalties.
  8. The comparisons between Crick and Suh is not fair to Crick. Crick is more like JJ Watt out of Wisconsin last year then another version of Suh.
  9. Can we play classic smash then in the mouth football? We have one proven running back (Rex) and three very promising young guys behind him (Abdullah, Heard, and Green) since this is the first year Rex will receive the majority of the carries (granted Taylor gives him the ball). We have decent depth on the O-line though that depth is filled with youth. Could this work as possible alternative then just riding the highs and lows of the T-Mart show?
  10. Crick will be a good fit at D End for a 3-4 NFL defense. I would almost like to see him play some end for us but I don't know who we would have fill in his spot at tackle. D-Line just needs to step up.
  11. Why do I feel as if we are missing guys on the team (especially down in the trenches) that look to kill the guy lined up across from them? Yes this mentality often led to unnecessary penalties but it induced fear in our opponents.
  12. We had to come back to win that game and then we still struggled to win that game. We should thank the improvement of the D under Bo that year for finishing so strong. Look at the Missouri and Oklahoma games. Those were two good defenses that year. We also had a very easy schedule that year. That offense plays weren't called by Watson that year but rather it was given to Joe Ganz. In the Clemson game when Ganz was out the offense struggled the most. Taylor Martinez is an athlete, a really good athlete. He still makes bad decisions at qb, has problems making reads, and doesn't have a good pocket presence. He has had a year of training so it's not really far to call him a freshman since he did redshirt, oh and did you forget about Burkhead last year playing as a TRUE freshman? Or there was Tommy Frazier or Ahman Green who hold the freshman records still. How about personally knowing players on the team or parts of the staff or those who work around them? Is that good enough of info for you or do you still like what you read in the papers or online? There are lots of people on this board who "know players" or "inside sources" we even had a member who personaly knew Bo Pelini's salt water aquarium guy. However I will stick to credible sources that can be found in print or online. I don't rember hearing that Ganz was calling plays in 2008 and yes we had to rally to beat Clemson but we did rally to beat Clemson thus making the arguement that Watson can score aginst good defenses. Well I remember Ganz calling the plays and when he came back in was when he got back in the game. If your giving credit to Watson for the offense that game does he also get the credit for the three turnovers off of which is all Clemson scored on? And if i remember and read right the defense was responsible for setting up the comeback by stopping a good Clemson offense lead by CJ Spiller, and backing them up and creating turnovers. Oh and field goals won the game, all four of them by Henery. Game Review: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recap?gid=200901010001&prov=ap
  13. i was happy with the offensive performance tonight. not trying to break a big play every time but rather taking what the defense was giving us. Green did a good job of just trying to keep the drive going rather than going for the big play, we had a few tricks we tried to pull and a few big shots too though. I'd like to see this offense in arlington against whichever oklahoma team we play. It was a good Nebraska offense. Run and short and medium passes while letting the big boys upfront do their job. I'm sure guys like Ricky Henry would rather not have to pass block all night. This is the offense I've been waiting to see all season. Next up on my list to fix on offense, where is the good old normal option play?
  14. Taylor Martinez has been heard saying multiple times that he hates Nebraska. He was texting his dad in the locker room when he was getting taped up after his injury Multiple insiders say his job as qb after this year is in question with Brion Carnes looking good in practice He is not going to transfer during the season His overly cocky attitude might be an issue when it comes to getting along with others I can easily see him as thinking no one can tell him what to do

  16. Not sure what you're getting at here... If you mean he can't fire them, I guess I would assume he can't directly fire them, but I have a strong feeling if he told Bo "X coach isn't getting it done for me" Bo would take his word on it and make the changes necessary. Accountability doesn't necessarily mean firing somebody, and I'm not on the staff so all I can do is speculate. I think it's pretty obvious what i'm getting at, Watson has had issues with a few of his coaches, and nothing was done. Ya I want Watson gone and I'd rather have Greg Knapp. Greg Knapp: Current qb coach for the Houston Texans, has been offensive coordinator for the Falcons, Seahawks, and 49ers. He is the one responsible for developing Matt Schaub into a starting qb in the NFL and he likes a run focused west coast offensive, which means Nebraska wouldn't have a giant shift in a playbook and we would still stay dedicated to the run. He recieved oc of the year at Atlanta and in the same year they averaged the most rushing yds a game in the NFL. He also handled Vick and was his mentor his first few years when he had the greatest growth in his pre-jail period. So he can handle big attitude players and he can develop players too. He knows how to run an offense in a way Nebraska fans would enjoy. Oh and the running back for the Texans this year just happens to be leading the NFL. As only being a qb coach in the NFL he might actually look to join prestigious Nebraska as the head man of the offense. A NFL coordinator with little college experience? Sacremento State doesn't count, what has this guy proven? Great idea, lets take a piss on the players we've recruited into the system and have 3-4 more years of down offense. yes those under him should be held accountable, so we need to take a serious look through the coaches this off-season and see who's doing their job to an acceptable standard for Nebraska and it's tradition and take action after that Should be is fine, I asked if Watson was allowed to hold them accountable personally. Your answer had nothing to do with what I asked. 1.What were we thinking with Watson or Callahan then? What had Watson done at Colorado before came here? Lead a decent at best Colorado team? He was just Barnett's coach and where is Gary Barnett now? Then we hired Callahan as coach and he had only been an o-line coach at the college level so what experience did he really have in leading a college football team? Greg Knapp can develop players unlike Callahan who can only inherit them or recruit. Oh and Greg Knapp runs the West Coast offensive like we run RIGHT NOW so we're not throwing out the offense just getting someone in who can help players develop and understand the system. 2.Well obviously people didn't know what you were asking since multiple people were confused with what you meant. Don't assume we know what you mean, give clear questions and what type of answers your looking for but if you don't want to do that, then don't complain about people's answers just because they percieved something different than you. Callahan was in hindsight, a bad move, obviously. Watson was evaluated by Osborne and asked to stay to provide continuity, our offense carried a mediocre defense in 2008 with Watson at the helm. You claim Watson "can't develop" players, he gets no credit for Martinez and the offense in the first 8 games of the year? In college you have to be able to recruit talent, and then develop it, a little different than the NFL. If Watson does such a poor job of developing players and helping them understand the system, then why did Burkhead make an immediate impact in our offense? Why was Martinez able to step into the fold with very little experience and become what he was? How did we plug in a freshmen at LT and a first time starter at C and have one of the top rushing attacks in the nation until Martinez went down? As far as part 2, I really, really hate to say this but Dr. Tom just isn't the same as he use to be. The 2008 offense really wasn't that good at all. Against good defenses where were they? Martinez is a natural talent, outside of his speed and elusiveness he has been an ok qb. There has not been the amount of development anyone should except considering the overwhelming amount of time Watson spends on him. Also a good reason where Cody Green hasn't looked good this year. Burkhead has an amazing line to be behind and has always been a great running back. What has Martinez really become? Alot of insiders say he won't even be the starter next year. What has the offensive been like against a good defense? Oh what fresmen is playing LT? And obviously you don't realize we get linemen that are top 5 in their postiion every year. You realized that Caputo has been playing since his redshirt freshman year and that he is has always been really good. Ya facepalm yourself for thinking that everyone should see things as you do. Really where are you getting your insight? The internet? Since you can trust everything you read on it...

  18. I was at the game too and I think he's fine and they just wanted to get some experience for the other guys. This is what we need to let him do last week cuz it obviously works once the D overcommits to the run, too bad we cracked it out after the point in the game or in an irrelevant game (game was important but we didn't need it to be colorado). Too bad he didn't run it against A&M, it could've been a game changer.
  19. for this past game against to colorado: we had more rushing yards than colorado's offense had yards approx 264 to 261 cody green isn't a bust or a true third string qb he can be good if we put trust in him and let him be comfortable with the first string he was at time a favorite in the preseason qb race and was until his concussion the second string qb i still don't like watson where was dan beebe? the refs were clearly better most likely due to it not being the same crew that did last week, texas, and iowa st rumor is that crew is the one that will be choosed for the b12 champ game
  20. When it comes to the fact that like last weeks game if we simply score ONE DARN td, we win. In addition, that fact has happened in 4 of our 6 losses over the last 2 years. Think about that a sec. Now, this offense was explosive to start the year. But Watson lacks the overall consistency and smarts in playcalling. Perfect example, today, on the goal line, he call a counter with a pulling guard. you dont pull lineman on the goalline. Just go straight ahead. And i agree with the poster that notates the defense scoring points today theoretically. We had 21 points for sure that came off golden field position set up by to's. Im sorry but i have lost hope with Watson, it's just not working, but who knows, with another year of developement, maybe the staff and player combination will continue to gel. I just dont forsee it on a consistent basis. Again we are playing our 3rd string qb who (I believe) had a concussion 3 weeks ago, The counter play with the lineman pulling I would not have called, but there is a reason I'm not coaching. The fact that no one can deny is that Watson's game plan has had us in a position to win 25 out of the last 26 games had the game plan been exicuted properly what more can us ask of an OC. Yeah, as long as you have the nation's best defense keeping it close. With an average defense we lose a couple handfuls of those games. That doesn't change the fact that a solid game plan was drawn up for those games, and had it not been for turnovers and misatkes made by the players than the offensive nubmers look a lot better. Somewhere along the line, people need to be held accountable. Excuse after excuse. If the players are making so many mistakes, they need to be accountable to the position coach, if the position coach can't train players properly they need to be accountable to the OC, if the OC can't get that done he needs to answer to the HC. Somewhere along the line people aren't doing their jobs. It not just Wats, but if he can't hold people below him accountable he's going to run out of excuses. Is he allowed to hold the coaches under him accountable? yes those under him should be held accountable, so we need to take a serious look through the coaches this off-season and see who's doing their job to an acceptable standard for Nebraska and it's tradition and take action after that

  22. We'll trade South Beach Shawn Watson for the guys of Jersey Shore, because how much worse can they be?
  23. Well, it would take Bo's attention off of the refs They could just yell at each other. It'd be great television. I don't think Harvey would be a fan of that... What if, instead of yelling, they had sword fights with triangular-shaped hats on? And a parrot on the shoulder. Don't forget the parrot! And the eye patch!!!

I hope Mike Leach never gets to the Outback Bowl or goes to Raymond James Stadium for any reason because I feel sorry for the person or it'll probably take more than more than one person to get him away from the pirate ship they have there.
