PaulCrewe
Apparently wants to be like the football team and got shocked by N'Western to close out the year. Lost set one 20-25 then won 25-9 before losing 21 and 23. I wouldn't think this could effect their seeding too much tomorrow but ya never know the way NU has been seeded in the past. Brackets are announced tomorrow. Quote Link to comment
husker_hurdler
I just saw on the local news.......gets a big WTF! You win the first set handily to come back and get slaughter in the second and only score 9 points.....come on. They should still be a #1 seed and host a regional. Quote Link to comment
RedTexan
I was thinking of buying tickets to the National Championship final four here in San Antonio. Guess I might want to wait and see what happens now. The way we played last night doesn't seem like we are Final Four material. Hope the girls can overcome and make it here to San Antonio anyway. krill
I am a casual fan of the VB team...watch the games that are on TV, listen some on the radio and have gone to a couple matches when tickets came way. Anyway, not an expert on the sport but it seems to be heavily vested in quick reactions, quick decisions (particularly the setter), and team moral. You can just feel sets hopelessly melting away when a couple bad breaks drain away the moral. Just seems like the team lost the edge after the incident earlier in the season and has nothing in the tank when the going gets tough on the road. Quote Link to comment
husker_hurdler
Its going to be a #2 seed hosting Jackson State in the Honololu Region Quote Link to comment
PaulCrewe
Its going to be a #2 seed hosting Jackson State in the Honololu Region As I had thought, the loss last night cost them. That regional is pretty loaded. Not only might you get Hawaii in the Elite 8 IN HAWAII, you have USC the number one team in the nation. Also in the Round of 16 you very easily get a toughie with wither 22-6 Pepperdine(#15 seed) or a 22-6 Cal team that competed in a very tough Pac 12 conference. Top 4 Seeds are 1 Texas, 2 NU, 3 Illinois, and 4 Iowa St. ISU as a 4 seed actually may have the easiest road to the final four. Quote Link to comment
VectorVictor
Honestly, not too worried about this. I don't think the Northwestern loss cost us, as we had bigger eggs laid *and* we're playing without one of our best players (due to circumstances within her control). We already clinched the Big 10 title outright with a win over Iowa the previous game, so if anything, the girls may have been coasting. Cook will have them back in the correct mindset quickly. It'sNotAFakeID
We'll be alright. Yeah, we have a tough bracket but we've also beat Penn State and Illinois and won one of the toughest VB conferences. I think we can handle anyone. Quote Link to comment
