If he does run as an independent, it all but seals the deal for Obama in 2012. It will be the Perot effect part II, taking enough votes away from whoever wins the GOP primary to make sure Obama's base will have enough votes to win. Of course at this point, I'm not sure Obama even needs the help. Kind of funny to think of all those Republican candidates who were kissing his butt when meeting the Donald and now he isn't even part of the party anymore.

Pretty sure Trump is maneuvering for a better Apprentice deal. All he does is yack about his TV show when asked and how he's a 'free agent' after May. That's got to be scary to TV execs. Pay up, gentlemen.

This.

Trump will never seriously run for president. It's all about burnishing his tarnished brand.

That and he is butt hurt over the Newsmax debate that crumbled around him... The guy was never a real "conservative" anyway (how ever you define that).....

I think the part in red would trump the part that is bold--what better way to burnish said brand than to have it front and center as a (supposedly) viable third-party candidate?

And an excellent choice in verbs, Carlfense, might I add. Rather apt, considering the modern day political and reality television process...
