Another reason I hate election years

Recommended Posts

Anything to keep left and right fighting each other rather than together.

This is by design. By both the campaigns and the media that push their overlord's agendas. They group the voters up and try to segment them into issues that will rile us and get us to vote for them. They do it to the point they cant work together anymore. It's marketing 101.

Which is why you are seeing the republicans struggle now, they figured that out first, but times are changing. There's almost 20 years of people being exposed to the rest of the english speaking world. Yet they have to reach out to the poor uneducated rural religious science deniers because that is their base. Except their base has been shrinking since farms became corporate and people had to flock to cities and learn to get along with other people in their community and now world, and tons of people don't buy the social agenda anymore. Then after Bush showed they were full of hot air as far as conservative fiscal policy and personal liberty went, well it's going to be an uphill battle for any republican for more then just the last election cycle. Of the 3 news media approved candidates in this thing now, the difference between them is one is black, one is morman, and ones a douche.

It's the internet age, we don't forget, what happens is forever archived if it's worth digging up. I just wish I was the creator of the Nuck Fewt bumper stickers from the 90s, I'd be cashing in again.

Our electoral process has been drawn out to such lenghts, that it costs alot of money to continually get a message out starting early.

That is a big advantage to candidates who are well funded by special interests.

Money is free speech, after all.

And I have no problems with the comments. If people are seriously accusing a green sock puppet with ping-pong ball eyes and a talking pig of a socialist agenda, or listening to said creatures for political commentary to be acted upon, then they are sad, lonely, angry people indeed.

If only someone could pay for an astroturf campaign that plays to their ignorance so that these sad, lonely, angry people could be given a voice into our political process...if only...

We don't have thoughtful elections anymore, only periods of character assassination followed by a vote for the lesser of evils. I'm already fed up with the process and they haven't even broke out the heavy artillery yet. I'm probably just upset that, once again, there will be no one worth a damn to vote for. If these bozos are our best and brightest, it becomes painfully obvious why things are so jacked up. We're screwed for at least another 4 years.

Consider the candidates that the media tries to ignore and our corporations don't like... such as Ron Paul or Gary Johnson.

I just may have to start doing that. Although I must admit the more I listen to Paul the less I like him. He has some really good ideas and positions but he also has some naive and pie in the sky ideas as well. I agree with him in theory on a lot of things but when you're running for president, they sure better be viable and realistic. I've always tried to vote for someone I felt had a legitimate shot at winning. This usually is a vote for the lesser of evils. Seems anything else is just a waste but since it's probably a waste anyway, might have to change tactics or just stay home and have a beer.

This is not the time to stay home. This election is the biggest since this country was founded. If we continue to spend 1 Trillion dollar deficits we will be bankrupt just like Greece by the next decade (around 2025). We have to turn it around now or in the next four years we will reach a tipping point and the debt and deficit will ruin this nation. :hmmph

Really? I'd like to see a source on where you're getting your information from, because you keep posting that and other hypothetical numbers with no basis in reality.

Yes, but not this site. Please find a credible news source.

And weren't you the one that was knocking CBO data when Carlfense posted CBO data showing the most significant root cause of our deficit is the Bush-era Tax cuts?
