Your best cole slaw recipe. For Barbecue.

Cole Slaw:

3/4 cup mayonnaise

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

1/4 cup packed light brown sugar

3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

2 tablespoons buttermilk

4 teaspoons celery seeds

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/8 teaspoon cayenne

3 cups shredded green cabbage (about 1/2 head cabbage)

3 cups shredded red cabbage (about 1/2 head cabbage)

1 green bell pepper, finely diced

1 large carrot, peeled and shredded

1/2 cup grated yellow onion

1/4 cup minced fresh parsley

In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, mustard, sugar, vinegar, buttermilk, celery seeds, salt, pepper, and cayenne, and whisk well to dissolve the sugar.

 

In a large bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Toss with the dressing until evenly coated. Adjust seasoning, to taste. Place in the refrigerator, covered, to chill slightly before serving.

 

Yield: 8 servings

GSG's Super Simple Cole Slaw Recipe

 

Ingredients:

 

None.

 

How to prepare:

 

1. Get dressed.

2. Drive to a local place that serves cole slaw (KFC, a deli, etc)

3. Buy enough cole slaw to fulfill your needs.

4. Drive home.

5. Eat cole slaw.

 

And there it is! See how simple making cole slaw can be?!

This is the only recipe I will use..the dressing is very good and it is easy to make. The half-and-half is what makes it really good.

 

Buy 1 coleslaw mix in a bag at the store or make your own.

 

Coleslaw Dressing:

 

3/4 Cup Sugar

1/4 Cup Vinegar

2 Cups Miracle Whip

1-1/2 Cups Half-And-Half

 

Blend all ingredients in a bowl; pour over coleslaw mix; stir and refrigerate in a covered bowl for a few hours.

 

***Add more coleslaw mix to your desired consistency, if necessary.
