hootin' annie's goatfarm
Player: Herb Bynes Hometown: Lauderdale Lakes, FL Position: QB/Athlete Height: 6’3” Weight: 212 40 time: 4.81 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Central Florida, Louisville, Middle Tenn. State, Nebraska Favorites: Committed to Hampton Rankings/Stars: Rivals: #26/ Bid Red Report: #77/ Assessing the talent: He’s a very solid, very adequate high school quarterback. He has good balance in the pocket and an escapability to avoid sacks. As far as flat 40 speed, he will not run past many. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 0% He has a preliminary list and the Huskers are on it. This guy will get offered more as the season goes, as other teams loose their top recruits. UN has offered 2 qb's one of course being freeman, & now herb bynes? 6-3, 210, 4.7, offers from cf, l-ville, mtennst, & UN - the only way to explain this offer is maybe the coaches are feeling that there are going to be some transfers in jan. or maybe the UN coaches are simply going to slightly nudge someone like adams or davis into a transfer, since there is not any real playing time for someone that far down the depth chart, especially w/ freeman coming & beck of course next yr - plus we all know how cally likes smaller #'s w/ significate rotation & reps in practice. husker in soonerland
Maybe another way to explain it is the staff is recruiting him as an ATHELETE. Don't get to carried away by this offer. Freeman is the one and only QB in this class. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirtsguru
Maybe a TE prospect? Quote Link to comment
DJR313
Maybe a TE prospect? That's what I was thinking, although maybe a bit of a reach. Who knows about this kid? Quote Link to comment
NamelessHusker
This is the first i have heard NU has offered him. If NU did offer, it's probably for a WR position or TE. This guy has offers from other schools to play QB, so i doubt he gives that up to play WR/TE This isn't a recruit i am really worried about either coming here for a visit or even being recruited by Nebraska (assuming they are even recruiting him) Quote Link to comment

hootin' annie's goatfarm
hello, qb/wr herb bynes will be visiting UN on 12/16 along w/ his lauderdale lakes, fl teammate, wr travius thompson: bynes 6'3", 215, 4.65, hs qb, *** has offers from cf, lville, mtnst, & UN, & this will be his 1st official visit to any univ. george o'leary, coach of cf, wants this kid really bad for their qb position (& there is a need & vacated area in qb position at cf - which is tempting bynes); he has been tabbed as a good armed qb, with a great scrambling ability; 19th rated pro-style qb by rivals travius thompson 6'2", 175, 4.45, wr, **, has offers from la-laf & UN; he has some grade issues - may not qualify; is high on u of m, & he camped there, but they have yet to offer him - & they probably will not since they are on a lot of higher rated wr's; for the season he had 38 receptions for 520 yrds; this will be his 1st official visit to any univ. p.s. their stats are not worth posting because their season was partially interrupted since hurricane wilma swept across the laud lakes area - & causing bynes to be homeless for a stint Quote Link to comment

husker rob
is hampton a D2 or D3 school? hard to imagine someone with D1 offers would go to a lower level. but everyone has reasons for thier decisions. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
The Hampton University Pirates are a 1-AA team that play in the Mid Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). Hampton and some of it's fellow conference teams such as Coppin State, North Carolina A&T, and Florida A&M have appeared in NCAA tournament basketball brackets the last few years usually as 16th seeds. Located in Hampton, VA and very scenic campus right on the ocean. link Hopefully they have a good hurricane evacuation plan. We should schedule them next. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirtsguru
My mistake. The Hampton Crabbers are the High School there. Quote Link to comment
