Joba Chamberlain suffers severe ankle injury

Meant to post this earlier today.

 

TAMPA — Joba Chamberlain lost so much blood Thursday when he hurt his ankle while playing with his son that there initially was concern for his life, a Yankees' source said.

 

At the very least, the gruesome open dislocation of Chamberlain's right ankle could be career-threatening and probably will preclude Chamberlain from pitching for the Yankees this season.

 

Chamberlain had surgery on the ankle Thursday night, general mananger Brian Cashman said, and will remain in St. Joseph's Hospital for at least several more days. Chamberlain was scheduled for an MRI and a CT-scan Friday morning.

Seems like Joba just has some bad karma surrounding him...

 

Other athletes get injured in fights, motorcycle wrecks, shooting themselves in the leg, conducting drug deals, and assorted nefarious situations............

 

While Joba gets it PLAYING WITH HIS SON.......!!

 

Hopefully he gets healed quickly and starts catching some positive breaks down the road...
