this thread specifically was just to challenge preconceived notions and provide empirical evidence. the more you know, and such. i guess the line seems like us v. them, but people should know who represents their interests.

Except that Obama is horrible on spending in large part BECAUSE OF Bush. No Republican likes to hear that, but that doesn't make it any less true.

 

I'll agree with you that both parties are at fault. That's why I strongly encourage everyone I talk to about this stuff to register Independent. Stop registering as Democrat or Republican. Make their national ranks dwindle. You can still vote for whomever you want, just don't directly support either party. Send a message like that and maybe they'll start to get the hint.
