Fonzie's Big Day

Sorry if it's been mentioned elsewhere, but it was nice to see Prince Amukamara have a big game last weekend vs. 49ers. Considering the multitude of injuries he's had to endure since turning pro, perhaps this latest performance will boost his confidence going forward?

6 tackles

3 passes deflected

1 interception

Former NFL scout Field Yates' 2nd half review from the London game highlights Dennard in item #9:

9. Pressure from rookie defensive end Justin Francis forced a poor throw from Bradford with 8:30 to play in the fourth quarter, and fellow rookie Alfonzo Dennard went up to make a superb play for his second interception in as many weeks. The Patriots were in Cover 2 defense, and Dennard, sensing the vertical threat from receiver Brian Quick, dropped to gain depth in his back pedal, abandoning the vacated flat area. He anticipated the throw from Bradford and skied into the air, high-pointing the pass and coming down with the pick. The fundamental play should provide a confidence boost for the seventh-round choice who has really come on in recent weeks. With Kyle Arrington leaving Sunday's game with a head injury, Dennard may be called upon even more if the issue lingers.

Fonzie played 63 of 63 snaps, along with rookie safety Tavon Wilson, the only two Pats defenders to get full playing time. Looks like McCourty, former Patriots starting corner, has been filling in at safety, which is giving Dennard an opportunity to start at outside corner.

No articles here but I was watching the Pats-Jets game, and Dennard made a great play against an athletic receiver on a comeback route. Very fluid hips; came back to the ball just in time to get his hand in there and break up the play. Got some good attention commentary from Collinsworth after that.
