wiuhusker
I don't have a dog in this "fight" but they all look the same to me Puig's initial celebration after he hit the ball is what has most people upset. His celebration at 3rd base may have been a little overboard but I think it's good for the game of baseball. Just don't celebrate a triple off the wall that an outfielder misplayed like you just hit a game winning homerun to win the world series. This all coming from a huge cards fan too. Tell the Cards pitchers not to fistump like they've just won the world series after a strikeout. Seriously "the greatest fans in baseball"'s butthurt is showing. It's a goddamn game. They're allowed to have fun when they do well If you read what I wrote I stated that in my eyes what he did at 3rd base was not the problem. It was the way he reacted out of the box when he hit the ball. If he would have been running out of the box it could have possibly been an inside the park home run. Emotions run high in the post season. Pitchers from every team fist pump after big inning ending strikeouts. Don't want the pitcher to celebrate like that then get a hit. Don't want another incident like last nights for Puig? Find a way to get him out. Which St. Louis had been doing a pretty good job of until last night which may have contributed partially to his reaction as well. Quote Link to comment
NUpolo8
He would have been hosed at home if he had out his head down and ran straight out out of the box. Quote Link to comment

Ratt Mhule
Just wanted to answer a question in the status update. One of the Cardinal fans on the board was upset about the pinch hitter in the ninth. The pitcher the Dodgers had in was a right handed pitcher. Good baseball strategy is to put a left-handed hitter against a right handed pitcher and vice versa. It takes away the slider which is extremely hard to hit going away from you. Most pitchers only have three to four pitches they use, so taking away one of their pitches is smart. More likely to get a fastball. This is also why some teams have platoon positions. Omaha-Husker
Did not expect Kershaw to get touched up like that. Two poor throws by Puig didn't help either. Quote Link to comment
