Herian Declares?

Recommended Posts

I really hope this isn't true. Not only for the fact it hurts the program next year, but it REALLY will hurt Matt.

His draft stock has to be next to nothing. Heck, he just started back in practice during December for non-contact drills. Their is no way he will be back physically for the combine to impress scouts enough to take a chance on him. He is likely a mid-to late day 2 prospect AT BEST right now.

Hopefully the guy who printed this just effed up.

There is nothing in the Lincoln Journal/Star nor is there anything on Huskers.com. I'd say that's a typo or some major reporting error on someone's part.

Matt went down with an injury very early in the season. I'd say he definately needs another year of experience and exposure before thinking about the draft.

if this were true there would be at least a story from husker.com about it...

or ANY other site than just yahoo

Yeah, but it begs the question, why would they think he was going pro? He didn't even play this season, and he probably won't be 100% for the combine. Makes no sense. I'd like to see where yahoo gets their info. :smokin

Thats why I think it is a simply clerical error. Someone probably just put his name on the list by mistake. It would make no sense why Yahoo would have some inside info that NO other site would have, including any local sites or stations. I may be wrong and this has some truth, but my guess is this was a mistake by the yahoo site.

Makes absolutely no sense. Matt was one heck of a player before the injury. He hasn't shown that he can still get it done since.

If he has the ability again 1 year of college ball to prove it would make his stock in the NFL much higher.

Whats the best he could be drafted now???????? Its got to be a mistake.

53 & counting; underclassmen deadline passes

TFY Draft Preview - Scout.com

January 15, 2006 at 8:20pm ET

The deadline for eligible underclassmen to declare for this April's NFL-draft passed this afternoon. And even though the official list is not expected to be released by the league until late this week, already a record number of players are jumping to the NFL.

At last count 53 players have officially declared themselves eligible for April's draft and we are still waiting for word on another half-dozen. We expect a few last minute stragglers to push the number towards 60.

The official list won't be released until Thursday at the earliest. Underclassmen who have submitted paperwork to enter the draft but did not sign with an agent can reverse their original choice up until Wednesday.
