Mavric
Former national championship quarterback Scott Frost, who led the Huskers to the 1997 national title, will be inducted into the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame along with four other former players, plus a posthumous inductee — Brook Berringer. Recent NFL defensive standouts Demorrio Williams and Josh Bullocks, who were Blackshirts together at Nebraska in 2002 and '03, are part of the induction class, along with former All-Big Eight safety Jeff Krecji and All-Big Eight running back Harry Wilson (1960-70s). In addition, Berringer, who was a key quarterback on Nebraska’s 1994 and 1995 national championship teams, will receive an honorary posthumous induction into the Hall of Fame. The announcement of Berringer’s induction comes on what would have been his 42nd birthday. Link Quote Link to comment
Elf
I'm glad Berringer is being inducted to the Nebraska HoF. I'm just not sure why he is only an honorary inductee. I feel like he earned his place. Quote Link to comment
Moiraine
Are they calling it honorary because it's posthumous? If not, I don't get it. He was the starting QB for most of the games during a national championship season. Quote Link to comment
Hedley Lamarr
Are they calling it honorary because it's posthumous? If not, I don't get it. He was the starting QB for most of the games during a national championship season. And demonstrated every characteristic you could ever hope or dream a college athlete and young man would display. TGHusker
Is anyone surprised it took this long for Frost to get in? I had assumed, wrongly, that he would have been in long ago. Why so long? Glad Brook is being so honored. Quote Link to comment
