DPE injury

:yeah:yeah:yeah:yeah

Now I'm thinking that this season was destined to be doomed and we are snakebit.

Here's a guy that came through almost 600 yards of punt returns last year and didn't get a scratch...and now that same guy can't jog halfway across the end zone without ending up with surgery and crutches.

Look at 0:32 in this Purdue / Nebraska highlight film, they show the injury as it happens very clearly.

I caught that live and laughed a little bit at it, telling everybody, "Did you see that Nebraska guy fall flat on his face as he was going over to celebrate?!" It ceased being funny when he didn't jump back up. :(

Wow....that isn't anything like Gramatica. He simply was jogging along side Morgan congratulating him and his knee went out.

Very sad.

Really wishing DPE is lon-term after something like this. We always talk in terms of getting them back on the field in the future (and I really hope we do), but I feel like sometimes the long-term ramifications on the athlete's well-being is overlooked. Ever heard "he just wasn't the same after he hurt his ____"? That can be as true off the field as off it. I know these guys all take that risk when they strap on the helmet, but I'd hate for anybody who wore the N (or played any sport) to have lifelong problems because of an athletic injury. This seems like the type of thing that could not only threaten his playing career, but his wellbeing off the field.

Awful season for the kid. Heal up and come back strong DPE!
