BigRedBuster
I know everyone says it all starts up front. So, looking at our last three classes, I think our O line recruiting has picked up from what it was. 2016 Raridon OG 4* .9435 Iowa Farniok OT 4* .9050 SD Brokop OG 3* .8848 Ill Wilson OG/C 3* .8560 KC 2015 Barnett OG 4* .9207 OK Gaylord OT 3* .8891 KS Decker OG/C 3* .8544 Omaha 2014 Farmer OG 4* .9021 Ill Gates OT 4* .8929 NV Foster OG 3* .8708 Lincoln If anything, I wish we would have had one more in each of '14 and '15. And...to my knowledge, the are all still in the program. But...at least on paper, that is a good group of guys. 1 Quote Link to comment

fwhuskerfan
Just for context: 2013 David Knevel OT 3* .8765 Zach Hannon OT 3* .8625 Matt Finnin (JC) OT 3* .8484 Dwayne Johnson OT 3* .8363 Chongo Kondolo (JC) OT 3* .8167 2012 Paul Thurston OT 4* .9357 Corey Whitaker OT 3* .8322 Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
Very true and the misses in 2011 have been well documented. The last three years have brought in players that should be productive with talent. Quote Link to comment

BigRedBuster
I also like where they are from. I added that above. Gates (which is a great get) is really the only one that is outside the 500 mile radius and the conference foot print. 1 Quote Link to comment

BigRedBuster
Average rating for 2012-2013 = .8583 Average rating for 2014-2016 = .8919 Clearly OL recruiting has picked up. Quote Link to comment

Please explain. I should clarify. They are mostly meaningless for about 2-3 years when you can actually see how the players are going to pan out. Quote Link to comment

Please explain. I should clarify. They are mostly meaningless for about 2-3 years when you can actually see how the players are going to pan out. I disagree. They are a starting point for the players. I would agree if you look at the individual players they can be meaningless because a lot can happen with that player to make them either pan out or succeed. You have the highly rated players that don't pan out and you have the walkons that become all Americans. However, when you look over an average of multiple years and players, when you see a noticeable uptick in the average ratings of players, I don't think it's meaningless at all. On average, the players are coming in better equipped and ready to contribute. Quote Link to comment
